This wonderful cozy cottage , set on a working farm is the perfect home base for your trip to County Mayo . Formerly a grain store , this tastefully renovated cottage has 2 extremely comfortable bedrooms downstairs each with its own bathroom. Upstairs , guests will find a beautiful open plan living / dining area with fully fitted kitchen as well as an open fire .
Outside you will find a wraparound patio with views of the countryside in every direction . Wander down the old Bog Road with your morning coffee or a few extra minutes in the other direction will show you both Croagh Patrick and Nephin , two of Mayo’s highest peaks . This is real Ireland .
The Granary is warm and inviting, making it easy to relax and unwind both inside and out . This beautiful cottage provides an enjoyable retreat and an authentic Irish experience. Do come and stay a while .

The bedrooms are downstairs in this quirky 200 year old cottage which makes for a fantastic quiet night’s sleep .
Twin beds in one bedroom with bedside lockers and a dressing table . This room also has a walk through dressing area with modern wardrobes . It includes its own large modern en suite with slate tray and rainforest shower.
The 2nd bedroom has a double bed with locker , dressing table and wardrobe and has a separate bathroom with electric shower , toilet and sink .
All bedlinens and towels are supplied for guests . Both bedrooms have curtains/ blinds with blackout lining .
Downstairs area also includes a washing machine and seperate dryer for guests convenience.
There is also an outdoor clothesline for a more authentic Irish experience.
Upstairs finds a beautiful comfortable open plan room with high ceilings and windows all around for bright light filled living .
We have a fully fitted kitchen with cooker , microwave, fridge with ice box , and dishwasher .
All glassware, crockery and cutlery , cooking utensils , dishes and pots and pans are supplied as standard .
In the centre is a wooden table to seat 6 with windows on every side .
The other end of the room boasts a fabulous open fireplace made from local stone and wood above which sits a fiddle to remind us of the times this house was not only a Granary ( Grainstore ) but also a location for Céilis ( Irish music and dancing )
A complimentary basket of fuel is provided for guests to light the fire and gather around with a quiet glass of wine or beer after a day exploring County Mayo and the neighbouring counties of Sligo , Galway and Roscommon.
We have a seperate Service Area adjacent the Granary with an extra WC , Belfast Sink and lots of hooks for tackle and rods for fishermen .
This area also houses a small freezer .
A patio surrounds the house with plenty of benches to accommodate your group whether together on the main patio or having a quiet read alone around the corner facing down the bog road or across the fields where Tom’s cattle are mooing away.
