Great house!
The house was great! The location is close to Black Rock Mountain state park and conveniently located between Clayton and Dillard. The house was clean and in a very quiet area. I would highly recommend this house.

Great lodge
The lodge was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the overall layout and decor. It was very close to the state park and was a great private little cove on the mountain. We had snow flurries as we left this morning. We hope to come back again!

Hidden Gem Cabin
My husband and I recently stayed at your cabin and it is absolutely beautiful. The cabin is very large, clean, and decorated beautifully. It was the perfect location for us to unwind peacefully from our busy lives. We will keep this cabin in mind for future visits!

Well appointed mountain getaway
Great spot with nice amenities to settle into for a cozy weekend. We had a great time on our visits. But it could have been a smidge better. Two weaknesses of note: first, Internet was a bit slow and unreliable. Second, cleaning since last guests was a bit weak... crumbs under table, dirty toilet, about a half roll of TP in each bathroom.

3rd Stay at this property
We keep coming back because of the cabin’s atmosphere and its location. This time we stayed for 4 nights and in addition to Black Rock Mountain State Park and Tallulah Falls State Park, we enjoyed the Little Tennessee River Greenway in North Carolina. We saw a few flurries this year, too!

Great location!
Had a wonderful stay for a few days before Thanksgiving. The cabin worked out great for our needs as it is near two state parks and not too far of a drive from GSMNP. Clayton is just a few minutes away and had everything we needed. Secluded enough to not have to see or hear anyone while there. Overall was very clean, except under the beds where the kids discovered a past guests socks embedded in a thick layer of dust. Checkout instructions were clear and it was no big deal to bring the trash with us as we had not generated much. We would recommend this location for a relaxing get-away and will likely be back.

Disappointed
Too woodsy--couldn't see the mountains for the trees blocking our view. Guest should not have to drop off garbage. Spider webs hanging inside cabin. Fireplace didn't light up. Toliet seat in upstairs bathroom loose. Dirt roads around cabin very rough and bumpy and too narrow. Weeds need to be cut around cabin. We would have been better off staying in a hotel.

Convenient but secluded
The cabin was spacious and secluded which provided a perfect getaway for a holiday weekend. It’s incredibly close to decent hiking and Clayton’s cute downtown scene. We also drove to Bryson City for tubing while we were there and it was a pretty easy drive. The cabin was clean, had a great amount of cooking utensils and good water pressure in the showers. We couldn’t figure out the dishwasher, but they had dish soap to wash everything by hand too.

Family getaway
When we got there I found the cabin to be very beautiful. However it was very dirty. I did not complain because the host was thoughtful to let us check in early. But I wish I had. Two weeks after the visit I get a charge of $100 for extra cleaning. Charge was for dishes left in sink, urine in toilet, linen on floor, and games left out. Well I loaded dishwasher and washed dishes that didn’t fit. Wasn’t sure where games were found so stacked neatly on hearth. Had kids so one might have peed and forgotten to flush just before we left. I can’t say. Don’t know where a dish in the sink might have come from. And I stacked the linens in front of the washing machine. What I found when I got there was fans with half an inch of dust, nasty floors and basically in need of a good cleaning. I believe I was the lucky one that got to pay for it with a bogus claim we left it a mess. Oh I was told clothes were left. I assure you no one intentionally left any of their clothes. At 3 am as we were trying to make sure everything was done to leave the house according to instructions i did the best I could. I read someone else say they had to pay for cleaning that they disputed. I ignored because I didn’t read anyone else say that. My warning is if you stay there and the house is dirty when you walk in notify the host. Take pictures of every room. I think the housekeeper is not being honest with the host. And propane grill never had propane. Beware.

The cabin is located in a remote very quiet area. Relaxing on the large outdoor patio with morning coffee and at the end of the day was amazing.

Lovely cabin in the woods
This cabin is beautiful. A perfect getaway for a family, couple , friends, or just to get some alone time. It’s got a full kitchen , dinning room, with full sized table, cozy living room with gas fire place (I couldn’t get it working but someone who knows what they are doing might lol) the porch is absolutely amazing with rocking chairs to enjoy morning coffee or tea. And a relaxing fire pit to chill around in the evening. I had an awesome time visiting for my daughters wedding . If I ever come back to this area this will be the place I’ll be renting for sure!

Great little cabin in the woods! It felt very secluded even though there are neighbors close by and is a fairly quick drive into town (either Dillard or Clayton). We will definitely be back to explore more!

Black Rock Cabin
The cabin was very comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace in cool evenings and the fire pit outside. The area was so very peaceful. The cabin is tucked away high up on the mountain. The road and driveways can be a little challenging for people that aren't used to narrow graded roads but really not a big deal.

Relaxing and Peaceful
We stayed here to go on some hikes at Black Mountain and Tallulah Gorge. The house gives a mountain feel with wood everywhere. Enjoyed the gas logs on chilly nights. Peggy was responsive and helpful with our questions.

Very nice. Could have used more extra blankets in the closet. A little more description about recycling and where to take it. Also a separate recycle trash can. TV was complicated to use. Very much enjoyed the gas auto light fire place.

Second Stay
This was our second stay at this property. We love the location and decor of the cabin. It’s roomy enough for 2 adults and 4 kids (ages 8-15). We hiked Black Rock Mountain (minutes away) and Tellulah Falls (15 min away) State Parks. We purchased firewood at the large grocery store in town for the fire pit. This cabin was great in the cold weather we had this year and in the warmer weather we had last year.

Beautiful location, great wraparound deck
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Black Bear Lodge (my wife, son, parents, and I). It is a very spacious, well furnished, and beautiful cabin. We love N. GA near Black Rock Mtn., and it is very close to Clayton too. The best theme is awesome, and our son loved the bear blankets! We also loved the wraparound covered deck and enjoyed sitting out on it looking toward the NC line. If you Like white pine floors, you will love this cabin!

Another great stay!
This is the 3rd year we have rented this property and once again had an amazing time! There is plenty of sleeping space and the kitchen is stocked with any tool you may need. This trip we focused on the local vineyards and hiking! Being in close proximity to Black Rock State Park is a plus. There is something for all ages! If you have littles that need to burn energy, visit the playground at the Baptist church downtown. Downtown Clayton is a great outing with shopping and dining. Don't forget to visit Farmhouse Donuts and Ice Cream! You are about an hour from several cute towns like Helen and Highlands. Northeast GA has much to offer in every season and this property is right in the center of it all.

Perfect Seclusion
We came to the cabin for the second part of our family vacation. After the hustle and bustle of Charleston, SC., this cabin provided a nice and quiet transition for several days before we headed home. We took the opportunity to hike at Tallulah Gorge, explore some of the area, do a little fishing with our boys at Black Rock Mountain State Park, and do some unwinding together as a family. Our boys loved playing Life and Guess Who. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed and we loved making s'mores around the fire pit. It was a great couple days and we wish we could have stayed longer

Quiet mountain home
The cabin is located near Black Rock Mountain State park. It's located among a group of mountain homes and accessible only through winding, steep gravel roads. They are well maintained but it's a ways to get to anything. Not much to do in the immediate area. A few hikes available in the state park but it's not much of a destination in my opinion. The cabin is spacious. The cleaning personnel did not do a great job: cobwebs on the ceiling fans, wet coffee grounds in the coffee maker, wrinkled sheets. But the cabin itself is clean and comfortable and the host responsive.

Spring-time Get Away
This was our third visit to Black Rock Lodge since 2020.. This cabin is beautiful, and as always, it was very clean. Although it seems secluded, it is a short ride down the mountain to Clayton. There is a wonderful grocery store, Ingles, that is nearby, and a great outdoor market with fresh vegetables and fruit. Thank you, Peggy, for sharing your awesome cabin with us, and for being available for any questions we might have. It felt like coming home again.

Beautiful place to celebrate any occasion!
Stayed here for 6 nights celebrating our 20th anniversary & it was awesome overall! Great day trips to Helen, Highlands, Hendersonville, downtown Clayton, Rabun Gap & Dillard are all doable from the cabin. Black Rock Mountain with its spectacular views are on your way to the cabin. The wrap-around porch & rocking chairs make a great place to start & end your days!

overall great cabin
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. We liked the fact that everything we needed was on main floor and entrance to cabin from driveway was just 2 short steps up from parking. It would have been helpful to have a "cheatsheet" with instructions for TV, trash collection center, etc. For those who have to fall asleep with a TV on be aware there is no TV in the master. This was not a problem for us. The trash/recycling center in town does not open until noon on Sundays so be aware of that if you leave on a Sunday as we did. Mud Creek Falls in Dillard was a pleasant surprise.

Perfect place!
This cabin was perfect on so many levels. Perfect location to easily explore several mountain towns. Perfect accommodations (very clean) and loved having such a comfortable king bed in the master bedroom. Nice fire pit outside to enjoy the perfect chilly weather. Would definitely stay here again.

Winter Wonderland!!
We enjoyed a birthday weekend with our adult/teen kids. Our weekend included 6 inches of snow which transformed the cabin into a beautiful Winter Wonderland!! We stayed warm with a gas fireplace and extra blankets in the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware The gas grill was a nice bonus. We would love to stay here again!!!

Perfect Cabin Atmosphere
This is a very spacious cabin that embodies exactly what one would envision for a mountain retreat. The covered balcony, an extension of the wraparound porch, stayed dry despite the rain on our trip. This gave us the opportunity to enjoy the outside in rocking chairs while staying dry. We hiked several trails at Tallulah Gorge and Black Rock Mountain State Park, both of which were very close to the cabin. If there was one thing I could request, it would be more towels. We had only five for our party of six. I was able to pick up laundry detergent at a full-service Ingles grocery store that was very close and run a load of was in the full-size washer/dryer. Everything was very clean. Check out was very easy, particularly because our children chose to sleep in sleeping bags on top of the beds rather than use the sheets. The final trash drop off was only a few minutes away and we got on the road quickly at the end of our stay.

Cabin was perfect for our Thanksgiving getaway. It had everything we needed to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal. Our only small complaint was the refrigerator wasn’t very clean. Plenty of room for our family of four and friends who came for dinner. The fire pit was a nice bonus that we enjoyed almost nightly. The drive up the mountain to the cabin was a little unnerving, I would recommend getting there during the day unless you’re used to driving mountain roads. Host was very responsive to questions. All in all, we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect getaway!
Wow!?! Totally amazed! The black rock lodge was so perfect for our family of 5. Loved that there was plenty of room for all of us, yet all 5 of us snuggled up on the same couch with the fire going watching some movies. The cabin was so clean ((even for my OCD)). We loved the games that were in the cabin and the fact that there were beautiful hiking trails around the corner at black Rock mountain park. We look forward to visiting again soon! ((Btw…all 3 couches open up into beds for additional 5 ))

Totally Awesome Experience
There are not words to express our visit. The property is cleanest to the best, Excellent location for the area. VERY safe area. The house is soooo cool and homey. Please consider this rental. you will not regret it. This was our first trip to this area and couldn't have picked a better house. Accommodations were everything you could expect , Please please choose this property for your most totally awesome vaction get away. You will not be disappointed. We were cooking on the grill and the tank went empty , sent a message to the owner and there was a new tank on the grill that evening. How awesome is that for customer service. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway
Absolutely gorgeous property! The cabin was clean and quiet, very homey. It’s a 2 bedroom but the loft also has 2 twin beds and all the 3 living room chairs were a pull out sofa bed. It has a complete kitchen with washer n dryer. I love the rocking chairs in the wrap around porch. There’s a grill and also a fire pit for s’mores ( don’t forget your sticks!). Try to arrive early so you can see the drive up to the property and bring/buy everything that you may need at the store (groceries…)prior bec it’s quite a drive to go up and down the property. We arrived very late at night coming from the wrong side and had to figure out how to drive our van up the driveway (it’s a little steep with loose gravel). But Def no problems driving it once we saw how it looks during the day. We would love to stay here again! Highlands Aerial Park (zip line) is about 20 mins from the cabin and is a must do. Check out Black Stone Mountain State Park which is right by the property, about 5 mins, is also a great must do.

Oh so clean!
This was a very nice cabin both inside and out. It is up in the mountains but worth the trip. The cabin was very clean. The floors were so clean. No spider webs. The decor was so cute. I was there with my daughter and her family. We had such a good time. I will definitely stay again. I come to area every year for a seminar at the Dillard House.

Annual Girls Weekend
My 3 sisters, cousin and elderly aunt had our annual Girls Weekend at this cabin. It was perfect for the 6 of us. Even though it rained and we didn't get to do anything outside much, it didn't matter. We just enjoyed our time together, had great meals, watched a good movie, shared and laughed. We will certainly book again.

A few Details Would have made it Perfect
A nice cabin, in a peaceful location with roomy porches and rockers to relax each morning. .Just a few things needed attending to that apparently had been over looked. We had to buy bath cloths because there was only one bath towel and bath cloth per person (2) for 5 days stay. The bed was comfortable. The owner was very nice and answered my correspondence promptly.
