"Room 216 was in need of some maintenance. AC unit wasn’t working properly, some kid used a blue pen to draw on the arms of the chair, and the water pressure wasn’t very good for the toilet or the shower. Otherwise staff was friendly and facility was decent"

"We love this hotel and visit it as much as we can. When we go during the week we find it very quiet which is one the reasons we go. The room is always perfect and comfortable. The housekeepers will always accommodate you if you need something extra. We love the staff and since we go there so often they have become “friends”. It’s amazing that Abraham in the restaurant/bar always brings us our beverages from memory even after not seeing him for months. Then there is Hugo and Will that make eating there a great experience. The front desk girls are kind and have a friendly greeting for you when you arrive. We just met Toni and Cora this trip. If you want to know something interesting about the original hotel that was on the property look up Villa Venice and see an interesting story about the 20’s. Geoffrey Baer is also a source about Villa Venice. In the bar there is a picture of the Rat Pack who performed there then. First check out the story and when you stay there go on the walking path around the hotel that is next to the Des Plaines river and look for a gray plaque in the ground. I think you will be surprised."

"Clean room good air condition"

"We were in the area for a concert, and really liked having a room, which included a long counter, counter height fridge/freezer, microwave and deep sink so we could prepare our own meals...Our King Room with Single Sofa Bed was fantastic, in that the bedroom & bathroom were separated from the sitting room and mini kitchen by a set of french doors. The decor was modern, but not steril, with a lot of wall and carpettextures, and the 'kitchen' and bathroom sported quartz countertops. Each room had large TV's and separate temp controls, so we could keep the bedroom colder, as we like it. The bed was very comfortable and there were 4 pillows, 2 firm and 2 fluffy. We brought all cotton flannel sheets and a cotton blanket from home, as we've stayed in hotels where sheets and blankets are polyester (plastic) that don't breath and we don't want to repeat past uncomfortable hotel experiences. So we slept great. Breakfast was fairly decent, with scrambled eggs, or biscuits & gravy (of which I do not understand the allure) but no meat like bacon, ham or sausages. They had a waffle maker, bagels, toaster, etc and things like fruit cups, mini muffins and fresh bananas. This hotel was an incredible value and we would gladly stay again and definitely recommend it:)"

"Good location in a mall…. Lots around the property (shopping, restaurants). Didn’t love the creepy underground parking but there was no other choice."

"The room was clean but poorly maintained. The paint was chipped in many places - no pride of ownership was reflected here. There were no laundry facilities, no irons or ironing boards in the room. There was no shampoo or conditioner. The carpet was worn, as well as the furniture. The bed was not particularly comfortable. The linens were much lower quality. It felt like the owners did as little as possible and put as little money into the hotel as they could. I have stayed in lower starred hotels that were much nicer. You could tell it used to be a nice hotel, but it has become run down now. They don't seem to care about repeat customers, so we will try a different hotel next time."
