“The room was better than pictured. The lobby was beautiful. The rooftop terrace held a panoramic view of the city. They left a pot of coffee and a thermos in f hot milk at our table- a first in Morocco. Breakfast included a delicious omelet and local breads and spreads. We loved it and wish we had booked a longer stay!”

“The location of this hotel is really hard for us to find. Fès Médina is the most difficult Médina in Morocco. We are lost in the Médina at mid night with large luggage. When we call the number of the hotel the man who answer the phone ask us to settle this problem by ourselves impolitely. But when we reached the hotel, the staff are friendly. The hotel is so beautiful, just like what we saw in Marrakech palace. The hotel supply very stable hot water for bathing! And they provide very good……

“We had a fantastic stay at this Riad that we ended up spending one more night here. Starting from the beginning, we were welcomed with freshly brewed mint tea. The host offered us lots of usual travel tips and also checked on us regularly to make sure we‘re alright. The room is spacious and decorated beautifully. The breakfast consists of omelette, coffee, different kinds of bread, butter and home-made jam. Everything was served directly at the table…it felt exclusive and the portion was……

“There was no pool outside despite the listing. The tiny pool inside the riad was typical and authentic, meant only for charm, decoration and to keep the dwelling cool in the heat of summer. Crucially, the listing must explain the connection between the Riad Almaz and the (nearby) hotel, Palais de Fes, and the hotel’s address, where the included breakfast is served daily. The listing must advise that transfer from the airport should be to the hotel, not the riad (which only very very local people……

I gave them a copy of my reservation from Hotels.com and they told me they were not registered with Hotels.com. Furthermore, the hotel was full. It was a horrible, horrible experience I cried. The owner on the telephone told me he was only registered with Expedia, but Hotels.com is Expedia so I would tell you do not book your hotel with Hotels.com with this hotel. The owner……

“I can confidently say that it was single handedly the staff, Ahmed and Anas that made our stay at the riad - exceptional!!! The rooms need an uplift, but any small shortage in the amenities was compensated by the exceptional attitude of the staff! Excellent location ! Excellent breakfast! The guide that they recommended for the Medina was great as well! I would only recommend that they upgrade the place with some quality amenities (hand soap, shampoo conditioner, extra pillows, brighter……

“Of the four different riads we stayed in throughout our stay in Morroco, this was the most beautiful. HOWEVER…. The breakfast was definitely the most underwhelming with limited options. The staff was also the least friendly/helpful. We reached out about parking near the Riad, and while a parking garage was provided, they did not include the bus information. Instead, we walked 15 minutes through the winding alleys and up/down the stairs with our luggage. In comparison to the other riads, they……

“Next to the main road where you can get a taxi. The proprietors were kind and constantly inquired us about our stay to make sure we were well taken care of.”
