  • Sitting on the fringes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and with Wainwright’s Coast to Coast trail passing through, the village of Marske plays host to this charming property perfect for families and groups of friends seeking an escape from the everyday. After dark, the lack of light pollution means you may see some stunning starscapes, while in daytime the village serves as a gateway to a region rich in natural features. Walks from the doorstep of this thoughtfully converted property include a 2.7-mile loop to Orgate Force Waterfall and a 7-mile circular route to Richmond. If you’d prefer to explore by road, Richmond (5.5 miles by car) is a historic market town famous for its magnificent castle and winding streets filled with welcoming eateries, inns and independent shops. A mile closer, the beautiful, cobbled marketplace of former lead-mining town Reeth has a backdrop of rolling fields and stunning moorland.


    Surrounded by a patchwork of pastures, dry stone walls and woodland, this welcoming family home is set at the end of a quiet lane, less than a 300-metre stroll from the village’s landmark 12th-century church. Enter on the middle floor where the large, well-lit hallway has plenty of space to throw off your outdoor gear then leads into a welcoming lounge/dining room complete with a wood burner and Smart TV. An elegant dining suite sits to the rear of the lounge area, and down a short flight of stairs the kitchen has contemporary styling and all the essentials for effortless self-catering. Stream your favourite movies on the Smart TV for home-style evenings with the family, and when you’re ready to retire, a staircase from the dining area leads up to the first floor where there are three slumber-inducing bedrooms to suit any party of six. Choose from a master king-size room with an en-suite shower room, a cosy twin bedroom and compact bunk room. A well-appointed family bathroom serves the bedrooms and completes the interior.


    For fresh air and fabulous Dales views, step out to the garden where a furnished patio and a raised, enclosed garden offer the perfect spots for al fresco meals, games on the lawn, and group relaxation. Guests will also benefit from private parking for three cars.
