Relaxing location

Holiday at the Haybarn.

Really enjoyed my holiday at the Haybarn. Very clean comfortable and lovely cottage. In a very peaceful location nice enclosed garden for dog , . Nice views within easy reach of Masham and Ripon. Friendly neighbours. Good food and drink at the Crown in Grewellthorpe, very friendly staff.

All good, no issues

Nice property, nothing to complain about. Owner was next door and available without bothering us. Perhaps may be missing a trick by not advertising secure bike storage as there is more than enough room in the large kitchen diner to securely store a family’s bikes.

A very cosy stay in snowy conditions!

My mother stayed at this cottage for a week with her 2 dogs, and I visited for a few nights too. It was a very well-equipped cottage, and we were impressed with the underfloor heating and efficient stove, which coped well with the sub-zero temperatures. It snowed heavily whilst we were there, which did make the long farm track quite difficult to navigate, but the farmer who owns the cottage was very helpful about clearing the track with his tractor. The cottage is next door to several other houses, so is not as isolated as you might expect. Overall a very comfortable stay and good value for money - thanks for looking after us.

A haven of peace and tranquility

A wonderful holiday cottage in a gorgeous part of North Yorkshire with so many fantastic places on the doorstep. This cottage is perfect for furry friends with a lovely safe enclosed garden.

Nice place but a bit of tlc would help

Overall the property was really good but a couple of things, albeit superficial, could improve it. There were only 2 chairs in the garden, rather than 4 which would have been nice. There was a bench but this was rather rotten and dirty, as was the outdoor washing line. The shower itself was great but the grouting,/silicone was awful, meaning that the whole bathroom looked a bit shabby. Finally at the end of the drive, where the bins were, there was quite a bit of rubbish lying around. This was the first impression of the property and it could easily be tidied up. All sounds like a moan but given it was 4 stars and given what it costs, I think a few improvements could make a big difference.
