We were immediately met at the airport by their shuttle. The room was spacious, very clean with great air conditioning, microwave, fridge and small wall mounted tv. Bed was comfortable but only had a top sheet - we tried unsuccessfully to get a blanket or comforter as shown in pictures. The pool water was 'greenish" not suitable for swimming. Dining room was permanently closed. We had to walk down a very steep hill to try and find a restaurant without success - ended up reluctantly buying street food - questionable food-safe? The place needed a lot of TLC to bring it up to its former condition. We were on the 4th floor (no elevator) but quite a nice view of the ocean where we watched a cruise ship arrive on Monday morning. Once it is fully restored to its former condition with an operating restaurant and pool I would be quite happy to try it again.

Ocean view was beautiful but it was definitely misrepresented as it did not have the restaurant or hot tub or a clean pool until my last night. I booked it because it said it had a restaurant and because I booked it as a 2nd place to stay excise of the 1st place being under construction I could not afford to have to find a third location. So I was stuck walking up and down a mountain 2-3 times per day. Good thing I am a young 50 year old I. Good health and could do it

I arrived to a completely dark hotel. Doors were unlocked to the restaurant, but found no one around. Finally found a number on a door that I messaged and after about 30 minutes he got back to me and send someone down to give me a key. No checkin process, just 'here is your key'. The room itself was fine. That's the best highlight I can come up with. I never saw one customer-service staff person the whole three days I was there. Only one pool was filled with water and it looked very dirty. I ran into an on-site maintenance person my second day and asked about a plumbing issue in my room and he just said 'no'. The views were great but the furniture outside was wood with no cushions or even recliner chairs...just kitchen-type chairs. For the price, spend another $20 a night and stay somewhere that wants guests...this place seems disinterested at best.

Two young men worked very hard to make up rooms for us although this took another hour to move in. No restaurant so nowhere to have an evening meal or a breakfast so this cost us additional cab fares that we were not expecting.Closest restaurants 15 / 20 minutes drive. our party consisted of seniors and was a very disappointing start to our vacation.

My stay at the Oceanview Hotel was great, but what truly sets it apart is the owner, Edgar, and his wonderful family. They are incredibly hospitable and friendly. We struck up a conversation over lunch at the hotel restaurant—where the food was excellent—and ended up talking about sports. When Edgar learned that I play pickleball at home, he invited me to join his family that evening for a game. I was in town on business to visit a cruise ship, and Edgar even went out of his way to drive me to the port so I wouldn’t have to get a cab. That level of kindness is rare. I definitely recommend staying here.

This property has great potential and will be great one day. It is still under construction in some areas. Our room was nice but the hot water didn’t work and neither did our toilet handle. The staff was friendly but was not at the desk to discuss these issues once we noticed. The view of the ocean was nice and the restaurant was good.

I had such a wonderful stay at Ocean View Hotel in Roatán. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and attentive—it really felt like they genuinely cared about my comfort. The food and drink options were spot-on. Whether it was a casual bite or something a little more refined, everything was delicious and served with a smile. The bar options were also excellent, making it easy to relax with a cocktail while soaking in the island atmosphere. What impressed me most was the way the team went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed. It’s rare to find that kind of personal touch, and it made my stay even more memorable. Of course, I can’t forget to mention the view—absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the panoramic view in the morning was a highlight in itself. Overall, I would absolutely go back in a heartbeat. Ocean View Hotel isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a place that makes you feel at home in paradise. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Roatán!

My stay at Ocean View was an unforgettable experience, made truly special by the administration, a lovely and kind couple (Edgar and Yulissa) who run the hotel with genuine warmth and attentiveness. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel right at home and were even given a choice of rooms. Throughout our visit, they went out of their way to check on us daily, offering friendly conversation and making sure all our needs were met. Their kindness and hospitality were so exceptional that by the time we left, we didn't just feel like we were leaving a hotel, but like we were saying goodbye to family. The views from the hotel are simply spectacular. The panoramic scenery, including a clear vantage point of Coxen Hole and the cruise ship port, provided a beautiful backdrop to our mornings and evenings. The food at the hotel restaurant was always delicious (with beautiful views from the restaurant as well). We especially enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, with the traditional "tipico" breakfast being a particular highlight. It was the perfect way to start each day in paradise. If you're looking for a place that combines stunning views, delicious food, and a truly heartfelt welcome, Ocean View Hotel and Restaurant is the perfect choice! Will definitely be back.

Check in was quick and easy and very hospitable. I made an error on my online booking and they accommodated me within two minutes. Highly recommend staying here. It is under some renovations, but not disturbing at all. Beautiful views, and great location. Staff is phenomenally nice. Even offered to get me dinner because the restaurant was closed. Highly recommend staying here.

This has been one of the worst hotel stay experiences we’ve ever had. Arrived to find hotel with no one at the reception desk. The office was closed. No answers to phone calls. Finally found a guard who contacted a worker who eventually took us to an unclean room. Bed Cover and sheets had stains and we found several human hairs and micro dirt on the sheets. There were no towels, no Internet, no wifi, no TV, no curtains or even toilet paper. The hotel restaurant was also closed. The pool water was green and filthy. The Jaccuzi was empty and being used as a temporary trash dump. There were several construction ladders just outside our room door laying on the ground. Finally the owners arrived about an hour later. They said they had just purchased the hotel, it was under new management and they would have things operational the next day. They offered to move us to another room on the opposite side of the hotel. The new room appeared to be a bit cleaner and smelled better so we agreed to move. After giving us a room key, The owners then departed the hotel. To top things off, there was no hot water to take showers, we showered with semi cold water. There was a group of dogs barking constantly outside the room throughout the night which disturbed our sleep. This hotel needs to be removed from your Expedia. advertisement list. And we would like a refund.

I blame Expedia for not describing this hotel correctly. We were told by locals it was a motel not a hotel. We were misguided by Expedia. Thank God the staff was fantastic.

The hotel used bleach in the pool, which will ruin your swimsuit and im not sure its okay to swim in bleach, pool still was dirty looking. Room was cleaned with bleach as well you could smell the chemicals and was not cleaned good. Hotel needs alot of love, its run down and way too expensive for what you get. Should be no more than $60 USD/night. Staff were nice.

Ideal place for chilling

Ocean view was great for my arrival to Roatan. You can chill on the pool and the terrace with great views. My room was spacious and had amazing views too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even went to the pharmacy for me! Estefanía and her team are very nice and make you feel Very welcome. The food in the restaurant was good too.
