Overall great place to stay
Overall, we really enjoyed this place. a The patio was lovely to sit outside and relax from a long day of sightseeing. Francesca and her colleague, Loredana, were very friendly and accommodating. After the check-in, Loredana shared great recommendations on where to eat, which we are thankful for.
My only concern is the added, off-line costs. We had to pay for late check-in and taxes for the stay. The late check-in fee had to be cash, which we hadn't exchanged our money yet, so we used Pay Pal for that. The taxes were paid via credit card. This could have been communicated beforehand or on the listing page. Most of this was requested after the booking. The lady also took pictures of our passports “to have on file.” when we checked in. This worried me because what seemed to be a personal cell phone was used to take the picture. Again, there was no communication beforehand about the need or reason for this. Our passports could be compromised if the phone is lost or the image is shared. We hope that is not the case, but it's hard to say no when you're in a foreign country with no idea where else to go.
As far as the place goes, we enjoyed the stay.
