I was back and forth about how or even if I should write a review. We did 3 weeks in Italy for our honeymoon, 4 nights was Rome. Perhaps I was distracted and didn't pay enough attention. Rome was getting booked up, so I rushed. Most places on VRBO, once you get there look a little nicer than the pictures. This place was the opposite. This is not where you want to go if you're used to the comfort of 4+ star accommodations. We didn't even unpack, we just looked around cringing, and decided to use their very slow (it disconnected twice) wifi to book elsewhere.
The prop mgmt co didn't make it easy. There were multiple people to talk to. There's one person who answered the vrbo messages, another phone number was our POC upon arrival in Rome, another woman met us and let us into the apt, another person's phone number was given to us as our contact. Well, the emergency contact didn't answer the phone so I called the gentleman I spoke to earlier in the day in addition to leaving unanswered voice mails and emails for others to attempt at communicating. He was apologetic, but understood completely once I said this is our honeymoon and the apt wasn't suitable. No, they didn't offer me ANY money back or compensation.
I don't know if the pictures are just old but the apt and everything inside is in poor condition. The sofas and chairs were dirty, worn and very uncomfortable to sit on. They should also be ashamed of themselves for saying there's air conditioning. This air conditioner is a VERY small mobile unit that blows mildewy smelling warm air into the room. After having it on for over an hour, still only cool-ish air. No way the unit could cool the entire apartment. Rome was in the 90s that week.
The bed and sheets seemed clean, but we were told they were more blankets and pillows in the closet. When I looked through those they were all just balled up and shoved in there as if other people had used them. They don't think to check in between visits? The towels are small and rough. The Terrace was tiny and dirty, facing a dozen other windows and an alleyway. Very small and cramped, we would not have felt comfortable doing anything out there.
I'm giving it 3 stars instead of the 2 it deserves because I realize it's partially my fault for not choosing better up front. This is not a bargain place, but priced according to what it is.
It is a great location, young people or modest European travelers might be comfy here. Would not recommend for Americans
