Overall our experience was okay. The float house was adorable, clean, and pretty big inside. However, it wasn’t mentioned in the listing that it is run by a generator. Our unit’s generator shut off several times and we had to restart it, up until the time we left (which was a good bit earlier than check-out due to the issues with the generator.) It’s also hard to enjoy the waterfront patio with the noise of the multiple generators. It’s mentioned that there are several restaurants around, but that’s actually not at all accurate. The closest restaurant is at the next marina, but they weren’t serving food (noon on Thursday.) The next restaurant after that, is Fishtales, and between bad service and bad food, it was overall not a good experience. After that, is a pretty good spot at the Jamestown Marina, which is about 16 miles from this property. The property is nice overall. But it is quite secluded, there’s 1 gas station about 10 minutes away on the road. There are no cleaning supplies on the property, besides dish soap and a dirty sponge. It would be helpful to have a broom and/or vacuum for quick pickups. Also! The units ARE NOT NUMBERED. We had to go to each one to find our unit, which we finally found with an open lockbox (it wasn’t locked.) I think this property has potential, but should definitely keep travelers/tourists who don’t know the area in mind.
