"What a gem!! We stayed for 4 days. Had to readjust our arrival and departure date at last minute due to typhoon Shanshan☹️. They even refunded our last day stay without asking as we had to leave a day earlier due to approaching typhoon. We arrived at midnight by train and the manager met us on site to welcome us and explain everything. Having a washer and dryer in one machine on site saved us! We would do a load of laundry every night and in the morning have clean clothes. Saved a lot of time...

"A truly exceptional and unique hotel experience in the heart of Higashiyama. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special place to stay while in Kyoto.
A worthwhile destination in its own right, and absolutely wonderful hospitality and service. "

"We recently stayed for a week, and it was a relaxing stay in Kyoto. The staff was great, the room clean, the breakfast awesome. The onsen was a relaxing experience, and we are glad we could stay during our vacation."
"Love the shower, firm pressure. Rooms were clean, and amenities were nice. My only wish is that they would make the bed when they come in. They clean the room every 3 days, but they come in and do a light touch-up daily, and I wish they would make the bed on those days."
"Fabulous hotel with a wonderful onsen and the best part is the extremely helpful concierge staff! I had questions before we arrived and they emailed with me many times back and forth to give me a lot of helpful information- it really took the stress out of some of our planning before arrival, especially since we were there over the New Year holiday (so many places were closed ). They made some wonderful restaurant recommendations and set up the reservations for us. We also really enjoyed the restaurant in the hotel. Great location, too. Our room had many amenities and a drawer full of items in case you forgot anything. I felt the room was quite spacious for Japanese standards. I would highly recommend this hotel when visiting Kyoto.
