“The first room we were given had some weird splatter on the ceiling, tv and floor. There was also a wasp in the room. We asked for a diff room this one was much cleaner but smelt like cat pee.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Maple Hill is a piece of living history and it was a privilege to stay there. The owners are excellent stewards of this absolute gem. Our room was huge and very comfortable. Every detail in the house is stunning. We took time to look at everything inside and outside so that we could absorb the beauty of the home and property. And the breakfast was BETTER than a restaurant! Getting dessert in the evening was such a lovely treat and a romantic……

“I rented two rooms while in town for the Derby. One room had NO toilet paper, soap or any other normal toiletrie items there were no hangers, no iron/or board. The other had minimal toilet paper and a paper thin bar of soap the size of a cheezit. There were ants in the bathroom tub area. The room above was occupied with someone screaming and cursing at what seemed to be his wife through the entire night. The room next to was occupied by someone who could not get his truck running and spent the……

“The motelier was great. Stayed up waiting for my arrival. Woke up in the middle of the night to give me a new key. Thank you. The sheet on the bed was thin. Had to get my own blanket. The bathroom was in need of some age-related repairs. Otherwise, a great clean room. Nice look on the outside. Easily accessible, though a bit outside of town. Most reasonably priced properties are within an hour's drive of Churchill Downs on Derby weekend. That was an asset!”
