Great Host, Great Home, Great Location
This home was perfect for our family trip over spring break. There was a small hiccup at check-in, but Laura went to great lengths to ensure everything got taken care of. We had great communication, and she was always willing to help provide anything we needed. The home was spacious, well-furnished and stocked for us to make meals and enjoy time around the pool. The location was very safe, convenient, and laid back, just the way we like it! We would absolutely stay here again!

Ideal location!!
Perfect location getaway! This area still has the old Florida charm! Great restaurants close by and quiet neighborhood. Fishing in the canals and bay was perfect. Very clean and completely refurbished home. The owners were helpful and attentive! We will definitely be back!

WORST PLACE WE HAVE RENTED!!! EVER!!!
We showed up to contractors everywhere, in the driveway and all around the house. This did not end through our stay. The house was filthy! Cable was less than basic 7-10 channels then 120 less than basic channels, the outside lights pool/boat lift lighting broken, front lights not there. Verbo, would not help me find another place, then when I called back and told them what was going on with the contractors there every day, I was yelled at and told I should have called sooner, and they would have helped me and relocated me. When I told them I did call and was told to deal with the host, again I was told they would not do anything I needed to deal with the host. I asked them to call the host and ask them to have the contractors leave and not show back up until I was gone, they would not. I was then asked to leave by the host, after complaining. I had no place to go and all the places available were out of my budget, Verbo would not help. This was supposed to be a restful time enjoying a heated salt pool (which was broke) between cancer treatments for my husband and ended up being a nightmare of construction and no rest. The pool was dirty with bird poop in & out and after the lanai contractor came, it was full of metal shavings all over/in the pool and the pool area, the dock and surrounding area. There was no respect for our time, money or peace! This home should not have been put on the site until ALL construction was done. The description of this house was NOT what we got!!

Perfect place for family getaway

Wonderful Stay!
The property was clean and just as pictured. Pool area is beautiful with plenty of outdoor seating for everyone. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook. Looking forward to returning!

We checked in early and we loved the house and the nice heated pool right on the water absolutely gorgeous caught a fish in 5 minutes ! Grilled some local fresh fish Beautiful kitchen ,bathrooms spotless ! Can’t wait to go back ! Patrica was a fabulous host An absolute 10 !

Great Location and Great Host
We had a wonderful time at this location for an Easter long weekend. While not our first time staying on Pine Island, it was one of our favorite stays to date. Patricia was a great host and had great communication. The canal had easy access to water and usage with a boat and the pool was great for the kids. Overall, we definitely recommend this property!!!

Perfect Christmas!
Excellent home to book for a relaxing vacation. Fishing right out the back door was a big hit. Don’t forget to bring bug spray. Internet went down briefly and owner worked diligently to get it restored. Pool was enjoyable and is where we spent most of our time. Friendly neighbors when we seen them. Lots of room to move in this home. It was a good Christmas getaway! Would book again.

Fabulous Vacation
We stayed 6 nights and boating, fishing, biking, pool, comfy beds, clean and beautiful home. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. I truly did not want to leave.

Terrible experience
I rented this place for a family vacation to visit family that live in the area. The house was nice as we got there just minor things as read in the previous reviews that remains the same like a door that doesn’t close and the “heated” pool which was as cold as it could be even when it was covered during the night as directed. Overall the experience was ok the first night, we enjoyed the outdoor views and the opportunity to spend some family time. The next day about 3 pm we received a text message from the owner stating that we had “violated the house rules” and that we had to leave the house in the next 15 mins, since she was on her way with the police. Immediately we called her and tried to figure out the situation since we were absolutely in shock and not understanding what was happening. The owner stated that we had violated the rules by staying more than 10 ppl overnight and being loud, I explained her that we didn’t had any extra guest overnight since my fam live in the area and they returned to their houses about 11pm and came again in the morning with their kids, and I even asked her why nobody called the police that night or why she didnt called me then if that was the case?, but no clear answer to that was given. She also stated that “there were kids being loud in the pool” again I explained to her that first of all it was a fam-friendly house according to the description provided not “adults only”, therefore I didn’t see the part were we broke the house rules and 2nd they are kids… there ARE supposed to be loud because they were enjoying the pool… Anyways after a long conversation trying to talk and explain her that we were not from the area tht we lived hrs away and that we didn’t had a place stay, plus that we had kids she kept saying that we broke the house rules and that we had to leave right away and that the police was 1 mile away. After all that nightmare and only thinking about the kids I even offered her to charge us a fee or a penalty for whatever reason she had in order to let us stay and again her answer was no. I called VRBO and they said “owners can decide when to cancel the reservation and therefore you you have to leave since you dont have any rights as traveler” Long story short, she didn’t gave me any money back, I had to rent a last minute hotel overpriced , kids were devastated and we were so embarrassed with our family, we felt robbed, and disgusted and so disappointed. Never again this house never again VRBO

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS OWNER
I can't speak to the INSIDE of this property. We booked this house as a family vacation. Our kids were so excited about the fishing and the pool. When we arrived there were people already inside the house. They said they had spoken to the owner directly and she said they could stay longer. Obviously I had my confirmation and I paid UPFRONT. I called the owner and she stated she was out of the country ON VACATION and she could NOT solve my problem. She then hung up on me!!! He daughter did call me and attempt to find out why her mother double booked the house. We all left in tears, kids were devastated because they didn't get a vacation and we had to drive 2.5 hours home. Worst experience ever!! I pray we get ALL OF OUR MONEY BACK AND THEN SOME!! If you are an owner DON'T book guests privately AND with a rental agency.

This place was great! Awesome pool and view of the canal was awesome! We even saw manatees swimming in the canal! Caught a ton of fish from the canal. Definitely will stay again. Next time we will rent a boat also. Just a short boat ride to Sanibel and Captiva Island!

The property was nice and in a great location. The host was easy to keep in contact with and made checking in and out easy. The only downfall is the shower in the one bathroom wasn’t working properly, there was hair on the shelf in the shower, the curtains in the master bedroom were broken, and there were ants on the counter. All of those things were minor and we still really enjoyed our stay, just a better cleaning process or a little maintenance would help make this cute place a 5 star!

Great stay
The house is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the Gulf. From the canal, we weren’t far from great fishing spots, Sanibel Island, and Cayo Costa. The house is comfortable and functional. The pool is fun and relaxing. We enjoyed eating our meals on the back patio and cooling off in the pool with views of the canal, passing boats, dolphins, and manatees. The home owner is helpful, easy to communicate with, and renting for just a long weekend was available. We would definitely keep this house in mind for another trip in the future.

Perfect Covid getaway
My husband and I packed up our 2 small dogs, left Chicago and enjoyed 2 weeks in St James City! We worked the first week remotely while taking breaks to fish, walk, swim and ride bikes. The 2nd week we golfed, rented a boated, had friends join us a few days, shopped and dined in Matlacha, went to the fish markets, cooked, read books and hiked the wild life preserve. Pat, was a great host and responded to our every need! We would definitely go back!

Awesome location
I would stay here again if the owner would provide kayaks and bikes that are in working order. The bathrooms were very nice and updated and we loved having the pool and use of the boat lift. The owner was easy to work with and flexible. She allowed us to stay an extra night at the last minute so we did appreciate that. We loved the location.

Great time!!
We enjoyed every minute of our stay from check in to check out. Pat is an awesome host responding quickly to any questions and so accommodating with any requests. We arrived on the island a little earlier than expected and it was not a problem to enter the house a little earlier or check out a little later. The house is clean and comfortable for two couples traveling together or an entire family. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could possibly need and the house is roomy and spacious. We enjoyed our time outside by the beautiful pool and the nice covered sitting outside. We utilized the barbecue and enjoyed meals outside by the pool. The house is on a nice canal. and saw dolphins and manatees swim by. I highly recommend this property when traveling to Pine Island. We just got home and are already looking forward to returning.

Great place during a crazy year.
Had a great time the only drawbacks were things that no one can control weather (whew it was hot) , covid 19, and practically all the game fish are closed to keep due to algae bloom 2yrs ago. Will definitely come back when it opens back up.

Quiet friendly neighborhood
The property exterior is well maintained with nice landscaping . The pool and patio area are real nice, you can lay by the pool and watch dolphins and manatees swim by. The boat lift works well, we used it for a 22 ft. center console. We caught snapper, snook, sea trout and small fish from the dock. The home's interior was nice but there are some issues. The two bathrooms are very nice the kitchen space is big and the three bedrooms are spacious. The living area furniture is comfortable but the dining table only seats four with the island seating two more. The king bed is VERY FIRM the queen bed was comfortable and it also had two twins. The check in was really easy, and the owner told us to call and we may be able to check in early. The neighborhood is very quiet and while walking our dogs every night we found all the people very friendly. The owner called to check how we liked it and if everything was ok. Now with the property issues and I informed the owner and she said she would look into all of it and I know sometimes things don't get reported but somethings should always be checked by the owner or manager. First in the king bedroom the bathroom sink on the right side the hot and cold water are reversed not a big deal just a rookie home plumber mistake. Both entrance lights were burned out but I found bulbs and replaced them. The dishwasher door support spring is broke and can fall hard if your not careful and could pose a safety issue with small children. The internet was almost nonexistent everyday around 9am it went out then about 8 or 9 pm it would come back we restarted it like it said but it didn't work. When we told the owner she said they had issues before at the pole and she called the cable company and scheduled a repair appointment, it just seemed odd they way it went off and on almost on schedule. There were no lights in the garage but she said that was also being looked into and she didn't know about it to a week prior, again a maintenance check would help. The outdoor fans have a wiring problem when two are on and you turn the other two on the first two shut off and the lights are messed up, and the light switch in the queen bedroom needs replaced. But the strangest of all we ran out of hot water about 8 pm after two showers and I went to check the breakers and there is a timer on the heater that shuts off at 7 pm. With all this I would still rent it again. The owner said she would check the issues and I believe she will.

Very comfortable
We enjoyed our stay. Nice comfortable furniture, ample outdoor seating, great location in quiet neighborhood. Many nice updates including a very nice master bath. Unfortunately the solar heat and blanket could not keep the pool warm enough for us with the cooler weather in January which was disappointing. There were a few little things that need fixing like lights in garage didn’t work, garage door opener didn’t work and could only get one garage door to go up, and a very slow draining kitchen sink. Also, one door on the linen closet in the hall was off. Again, nothing that made this home any less enjoyable. The view of the mangrove across the canal was the best!

It was exceptional cold in January this year and when the temperature goes down to 45degrees at night the solar cannot keep the pool warm it is unusual it gets that cold here. I did have a slow drain in the kitchen sink I put a new septic in the house. The lights in garage and the door opener are fix. Sorry it was so cold in January for you but I don't have any control over the weather. Patricia

Beautiful place!
Spent Thanksgiving week here with our two teenage daughters and it was perfect! Loved having access to the bikes and kayaks. Very spacious open home and had everything we needed! It was wonderful being on the canal with mangroves right acrosse the way - saw a few manatee and caught lots of fish right off the dock! Rented a boat and toured around the area - lots of dolphin sightings!

Delightful
We enjoyed our time at Fisherman’s delight. The home is perfectly located near main waterways, local restaurants, and bars. It was clean and spacious, updated, stocked well with nice towels, blankets, and bedding, nice furniture, and even great smelling candles. The pool area was roomy. The boat lift and dock are were perfect. Gorgeous trees all around the house. You can tell the owner takes pride in this home and making others stay enjoyable. We can’t wait to book again!

Quiet Time
My wife and I were looking for a short quiet weekend getaway. This place was it. The house was perfect, in a very quiet neighborhood and close to everything around Pine Island and Cape Coral. We give this place a 10 out of 10. We will be back here again. Can't wait!!

Great home with excellent location!
The property is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood in the heart of St James City. There are no homes across the canal (only mangroves) so it is much more private than most canal homes., but is still just a quick bike ride to bars and restaurants. The home is very close to big water so it is just a short boat ride to Sanibel and Ft. Myers beach. The house has been updated with modern amenities and furniture. The king bed is very comfortable. All the bedding is nice and there are plenty of towels. The AC worked well and the ceiling fans were a welcome addition in August! There are 3 bikes, fishing poles, cooler, 2 kayaks, beach umbrella and a couple of folding chairs for the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful pool and covered porch area. There is also a nice dock, new boat lift and fish cleaning station. The yard has beautiful tropical landscaping. We loved the house, pool, location and St James City. It was a wonderful vacation. We are looking forward to returning.
