Stunning water views

Once you navigate the steep driveway and 2 flights of stairs, the effort is well worth it. Fabulous views were amazing and my friends and I had a great time sitting out on the deck watching the sunrise and sunsets, and a short stroll to the beach. Would definitely come back again...

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a wonderful time at Wanda Point House. Very comfortable with everything we needed. Views were spectacular. Loved sitting out on the deck taking in the views. And waking up in the morning with the views from the bedroom was an added bonus. Access to dog friendly beach was brilliant for our border collie. Driveway was a challenge to get car up, but we opted to park on road and walk up, so wasn'ta problem. Plus it was great exercise. And well worth it with the views that we had.

Relaxing

We had a great stay. Lovely view. Great deck space. Bright feel inside from the living and kitchen areas. Easy walk to local shops & takeaway food. Ducted air-conditioning made it very comfortable through the whole house, as it was hot outside. We would stay again.

Glorious views from delightful house

We had a lovely stay at Wanda Point where the views were stunning and the house was comfortable and furnished beautifully. With the beach just across the road and a quiet neighborhood it was a perfect location

We all enjoyed our stay and were comfortable. Lovely house and top view. We all agreed that the TV in the bedroom with the ensuite should be replaced with a smart tv. It was disappointing the the tv in that room didn’t work.

beautiful view of the water - so relaxing

the premises was great - it met our expectation - the premises was well presented, comfortable and the balcony was one of the best features of the house. our dog loved the backyard a new place to explore. we all enjoyed our stay - however the steep driveway damaged the front of our car. we left car on the road as not to damage the car more.

Beautiful home with amazing views

The house is fantastic. Really impressive. The deck is amazing. Great amenities. 5mins walk to the village. 3 mins walk to the beach. We would definitely stay again. In fact we extended by one night. The driveway is very steep and there are a lot of stairs to access the property but the listing does mention this and we were fine with it. May not be so suitable for people who struggle with stairs or steep gradients.

winter waterside getaway

The house was a good size, and in a good location . Some of the door locks did not seem to work well, and some of the light bulbs needed replacing. The internet also was not working, but we managed ok ,by using our phones to hotspot. The driveway is quite steep and the flights of stairs might be challenging for any with mobility issues though not for the able bodied. The house is close to some handy local shops, and a short drive to lots of local sights. The view from the house is lovely, and having the scenery and local wildlife in view is nice.

If you are looking to stay over Soilders POint side, it is very well located, close to water and shops, all within walking distance. View is beautiful, very easy to spend time out on balcony. The driveway is something to keep in mind, once you get up it deters you from wanting to leave, it is not easy and if you have elderly with you they will struggle to walk up the driveway and then up the stairs to the house, this is the only downside to the house.

Well presented property with stunning outlook

The property was as advertised, clean, confortable and without fault. Driveway is very steep, a bit tricky and the stairs up are long (as you might expect to reach such heights). The Managing agent - Stay Port Stephens - is difficult to contact: Emails / messages not answered and uses o/seas messaging services at the weekend. Having booked with "Stayz" and noticed payments processed by "Stay" (without the 'z') looked suspicious. Then being unable to contact anyone at all to verify, we were convinced this was a scam. Fortunately, we eventually spoke with someone in USA who could confirm the booking. Phew! We still had to make several attempts to phone the Agent to obtain Check-in instructions (which were sent but we never saw them...not even in junk). It shouldn't be this hard. I would encourage Stay Port Stephens to review their processes. Apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Disappointing

The property was tired, disappointing level of cleanliness once you got past the surface-cleanliness. It may be a sand-free house but it’s not a dust/dirt-free house. Not enough seating for the number of people, apart from at the table and the lounges were not comfortable. Back deck needs care - it’s a hazard. Dishwasher was really inadequate and we were appalled at the lack of water-saving shower heads. Expecting that children will sleep on a sofa bed in the middle of the living area with huge windows that have no blinds is a joke. How can they sleep there, what are the adults supposed to do once children are in bed? Thank goodness we’d thought ahead and taken blow up mattresses. This really shouldn’t be advertised as a option without clear explanation. It’s also not near a “beach” it’s near a narrow strip of seaweed covered sand and water so vlogged with seaweed it was in swimmable, which was truly very disappointing.

Disappointed in management response to problems

This is a lovely comfortable house in a convenient location however it is currently in need of some basic maintenance issues like lights, towel rails, broken drinking glasses and fly screens with holes. Our biggest disappointment with our stay though was the very very late response from the property manager to the inconvenience of these maintenance problems during our stay. The first toilet seat fell off as soon as we arrived on the Saturday afternoon and we left a message for the manager, when the second toilet seat fell off on Sunday afternoon leaving us with no functional toilet, I left a second fairly terse message. We did not receive a return phone call until the Monday at lunch time. At that point we agreed to contact the manager when we able to let a tradesperson into the house later that day and again, at that time, we rang and rang and rang with no answer for some hours. It is simply not appropriate to have a property management company with only one contact number which is not answered in a timely manner when you are renting a holiday property. It just isn't.

Salamander Bay

Venue was light and airy with beautiful 270 degree + vistas of Salamander Bay. Close to shops and supermarkets. Close to a range of beautiful sandy beaches. Lovely weather, warm days and cool nights. Wife and I enjoyed a fun filled mini holiday.

We paid good money to stay in the house and in addition paid a substantial $1000 bond. We have a great reputation with all previous airbnb stays. Yes this was advertised on the listing but was still extremely frustrating and as a result we spent no time at the house other then to sleep. We’d come to NSW to visit family and the restrictions that the house had meant we weren’t able to enjoy the home and all it had to offer.
