San Diego Beach Hotels

"Property is an easy 35 minute drive from airport. We arrived with Roxanna to greet us and since she does not speak English, we got to use our Spanish right away. Her daughter is also lovely and helpful. There are 3 separate rooms, all with multiple beds and I could see this property being used for a big family gathering. The upstairs room has a fantastic view of both the ocean and the pool. The beach is great, beautiful soft sand and we played in the waves. There are lifeguards on the beach, which was not crowded. The pool is larger than expected and my nephew stayed in it for hours. We did not use the little outdoor kitchen, but instead ordered food from a restaurant which Roxanna delivered to us. We never left the compound. It was wonderful. The Grocery store is close. Roxanna was worried we would get lost on our way out. We were stopping for groceries and she offered to come with us, but it's on the main road as we drove out of town. It is very much a beach house with stone floors, local fishernen and horses on the beach. Also, the owner was very effecient when his VRBO account had an issue and he contacted me to ensure everything was okay. I really appreciated that. Loved our stay here. Wish we'd stayed longer. "

"The stay was excellent. The car is safe in gated community. The pool was clean and not cold. Nice to be right in front of the beach, though my unit was not facing the beach. The culture in that area includes EARLY morning truck vendors passing by blaring the items they were selling...didn't last long. Would definitely recommend this beautiful place. "

"We refused to check in and had to find other local accommodations. The directions were off by 1 mile, requiring getting locals to help find the place. When we got there we found 1) No way to secure our belongings, since door locks were not working, 2) no A/C in the main rooms and 90 degrees without fans, 3) Open access from the public beach, 4) cockroaches, 5) bad neighborhood without the listed local restaurants and shops, 6) Poorly maintained pool, barbeque, and other amenities. Host responses were slow and unhelpful. We are dealing with Expedia for a refund. "

"The property needs lots of TLC, spire webs and ants everywhere inside the house, rip furnitures, the gate keepers were really rude, check in time 7:00pm when usually is 4pm but check out time is 4pm. Not full access to the property since we need to ask the gate keepers to open and close the gate to go out.. since check in was at 7 and wanted to go to El tunco at night we were told that we were not allowed to go out after 9 that gate closed at 9 pm.. totally a bad experience. Place have lots of potential hope they fix it ... And good luck"
