Perfection

My son and I stayed at David’s ranch. It was a perfect location for taking in the abundance of natural beauty and served as the perfect home base for our Santa Cruz exploration. David was kind and enthusiastic about sharing lots of his favorite spots in the area. My 10 yo son fell in love with David’s horses and said hello to them first thing each morning. We would definitely return!

Good vibes

David was a wonderful host and his property was even more beautiful than the photos showed. We particularly enjoyed saying hello to the horses and meeting David's super helpful caretaker, Jeff :) Only complaint was internet for working remotely- had trouble getting and keeping a reliable connection, even though I called ahead about it. This cost us a day of work and we had to go to the Santa Cruz Marriott in order to have WiFi. But ultimately David did his best to help and and it worked much better the second day. As long as you are not trying to work remotely, I highly recommend this stay!

Relaxing and beautiful!

David is a wonderful host. Warm, kind and knowledgeable of many things from places to eat, to the history of the area and of course, horses! He has two beautiful horses, Rico and Fosse. We got to feed them carrots and you can see them from the suite. We walked around the grounds and star gazed our second night. It was quiet, clean, comfortable and just all around amazing. If you want to get away from the current state of our world, David's place feels miles, if not worlds away from it all!

Great ranch for active travelers

This is a remote ranch located in the beautiful Santa Cruz hills. It is a great location for a couple looking to hike and explore the large property. There are two curious and beautiful horses staying across the driveway from the room. David is a warm and friendly host that worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. When he knew that he wouldn’t have a lawn area available, he contacted us in case we wanted to reschedule - and offered a free bottle of wine and even an extra night if we wanted it. As my husband is disabled, we couldn’t take full advantage of his many acres of land. However, we enjoyed the quiet location for a getaway from city life.

Relaxing retreat

Beautiful Property

The studio was perfectly equipped for our weekend, and was close to town for dining, shopping and also the beach. David was such a friendly host. We highly recommend this studio for peace and quiet with easy access to conveniences nearby.

Mountain serenity

As advertised, David's place offers easy access to numerous hiking and biking trails. The space is comfortable and functional, with the added benefit of Rico and Fosse's energy from the nearby corral. Local towns, not previously on our radar, came into focus as this mountain getaway provided an excellent "basecamp" for exploration. We recommend Felton and Davenport Landing for your dining pleasure.

Beautiful unit below main house. Clean, quiet and close to nature.

I'd recommend this for anyone who might have business in the City of Santa Cruz or at the UCSC, but don't want or need proximity to all the hustle and bustle of town.

Beautiful Setting

We really enjoyed our stay at the ranch. We spent 2 days celebrating out 2 year old's birthday near by and the quite, beautiful ranch was the perfect retreat. Thank you David for being a wonderful host and all around good person.

Wonderful Stay and Excellent Property Manager

We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary by having a relaxing weekend with our horses. This place was perfect! The accommodations were very comfortable, clean and included lots of extras goodies in the kitchen and refrigerator that were very much appreciated! The property manager, David, was excellent and exceeded all of our expectations. He started by providing lots of correspondence to answer our questions and provide extra details before our trip. Then when we got there, he made sure that we had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be back!

We had such a wonderful experience! Beautiful place and the owner is very kind. Highly recommend

The drive up through the mountain is beautiful. The accommodations were perfect for my husband and I. We were in town for the US open at Pebble beach but wanted to stay a little away from all the crazy, crowded hotels. It was very peaceful, comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner was super friendly and had some wonderful suggestions on places to eat. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get away.

Great Getaway!

Beautiful, scenic, peaceful. All the components for a great stay, and then some. Despite record temps, we stayed cool and comfy on the ranch. David was an excellent and gracious host, with unlimited ideas for local wine tasting and good eats.

Redwood Paradise

Beautiful piece of property, redwood vista's to the sea. Spectacular. Feels like your in the middle of nowhere and only 15 minutes drive to town. The unit was comfortable and warm on the cool spring nights we were there.

David the owner is very hospitable and property is beautifully located in the Santa Cruz mountains.

I spent two weeks at the ranch and felt right at home. David was also very helpful and warm. He is very knowledgeable on the surrounding area and gave me lots of ideas for spending my time and good places to eat.

The property is incredible. A hilltop ranch with views from the redwood down to the Pacific

My wife and I booked this property to celebrate our one year anniversary. We spent our time in the quiet of the woods soaking in the views. David was an incredible host and it was a blessing to spend a special weekend in the redwoods.
