Food is excellent. Service was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back. Only thing I wasn't happy with was check out is at noon and they cut your wrist band off and don't get access for lunch. If you want to go eat before transportion arrives you have to pay for the buffet

This is a smaller resort, but nice. We went the week after Easter, so it was quite busy for the first part, but died down the last couple of days. There were two buffets for breakfast, but we only went to one of them. There were three al a cartes, and we only made it to two, but they were both very good. The beach was beautiful!

Internet works well, need more equipment in gym, food was great except for one horrible meal at La Fontana called Ossobuco and the male server forgot to bring my husband's soup. Room was clean and decent. Beach was unaccessible most days as waves were rough and dangerous.

Our first experience with an all inclusive. Staff was great, food was okay, manly cold even the room service. The jarring earthquake alarm randomly went off at 0330/0400 and when I brought it up I was told they were maintenance which I do not believe as there was no communication to guests and those test would not be done at early morning hours. Location as with all of Huatulco is beautiful, ground were lovely and well cared for. Beautiful place, but was a little disappointed with us getting sick and the alarm.

Our stay at Barcelo Huatulco was amazing! Greeted by friendly and welcoming staff upon arrival. No high pressure timeshare sales like many other resorts we’ve stayed at. A very refreshing change! Our room was pool/ocean view. Very clean and well kept. Cleaning staff were amazing, keeping our room clean and tidy the entire trip! The 3 restaurants were all amazing! Sushi, Mexican and Italian. All great quality and so delicious! Prompt and friendly service at all. I recommend making reservations as soon as you arrive as availability is limited. The buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner all had a good variety of foods including traditional Mexican as well as American choices. A bar with music and great atmosphere open from 10pm-2am….great time if you’re up for a late night! Drinks were served all day around the pool and lounging areas as well as the lobby bar. Had no trouble getting a lounging chair by the pool or beach area…also a nice change from previous vacations! A great selection of included non motorized water sports. Snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boards, small catamaran. The resort is located in a Bay Area where the water is swimmable but can get a little rough at times. A nice walk from end to end with the occasional sting ray or turtle sighting. Barcelo is a nice sized resort. Comfortably walkable to anywhere you need to be and not crazy busy!! Short taxi ride to shopping and sight seeing. An amazing vacation!!

Our stay from the friendly check in, to having the bell boy take our luggage to our room went well. Room was cleaned and towels replaced every day, Staff always had a smile and greeted you. Wifi was spotty some days but overall worked well. Al la cartes were good, but same menu from previous years, could have a little change, but would be difficult to do.

Our stay was very nice. The rooms were clean, the staff was great. The one thing we had issue with was the food. None of the food was hot from the buffets, except at breakfast when you could order omelets etc. They were constantly running out of bacon, there was never enough. The food at Agave and the Italian restaurants were phenomenal. I recommend the coconut shrimp at Agave! The last thing I will mention, is if you are trying to avoid the sun, they have no umbrellas around the pool, just these coverings over certain sections that still let the light in. There are not many palapas on the beach either, around 12-14? Do not put your towels on the beach or beach chairs early in the morning without leaving someone there, they will take them, along with your stuff and you will have to get it back from security. I get it, and that is fair. We always had someone with the chairs. Extremely hot there 32-33 every day and humid. But overall, we enjoyed the resort itself, they just need to up their buffet food game!

Enjoyed our stay very much. Wi-fi was good, room was nice Service was great, employees were great, very friendly, nice all around, check-in was one of the nicest we’ve ever experienced. The beach is beautiful, but unfortunately for 4 days it was very rough, 2 of the 4 days you could sit at the beach but not swim in the ocean, the other 2 days you couldn’t use the beach at all. When ocean was calm it was enjoyable. Only thing lacking was some entertainment in the evening if you didn’t want to watch the shows.

Our room cleaner, Minerva, kept our room spotless and updated sheets and towels daily. We were very impressed with the a/c operation in our room - cool, quiet and comfortable. Wi Fi coverage was excellent in our room, lobby and pool area. We were disappointed that we were only provided three bottles of water for our room per day - not adequate. The desk informed us to purchase more water from the gift shop. We found upgrading to premium would be an additional ninety dollars per day - that is 630 dollars for the week - just to be able to get rose wine or a premium alcohol ? Very surprising policy. Fernando, Carolina and Carlos were exceptional servers at poolside - filling our orders regularly with politeness and accuracy. The polite staff make the resort - they are such hard workers - always aiming to impress. Waiters at the Mexican, Italian and Japanese à la carts made our eating experiences fabulous with great food and service offered at each. Menu options have improved considerably at the buffet since March of 2025. We enjoyed guac and pico daily. Entertainment has also improved with live singers and polished performers. We love the size of the resort, the cleanliness of the pools however the check in experience must be improved - far too understaffed to handle the peak periods when clients arrive. Furniture in the lobby truly requires a major refresh - very worn and dated. Other than a few refinements needed to improve the client experience we love the Barcelo and staff.
