The apartment itself is located in the Balcon De Los Gigantes complex, Phase 1 on Calle La Hondura. It is a two bedroomed, two bathroom apartment, first floor roadside which is ground floor within the complex. There are lifts and stairs to accommodate everyone. The complex is in two halves (like two squares joined together) within each square there is a pool area and both pools are accessible to everyone. There is a large pool in each area, along with a small round shallow childrens pool and also a jacuzzi. The pools are surrounded by large sunbathing areas and lush gardens and there are sun loungers and umbrellas for shade to enjoy some relaxation.
It has been decorated throughout and had various new items included. There is new furniture in the lounge including a new Smart television with various channels and Netflix connectivity (you would need your own account access.)
There is O2 Wifi in the apartment and Air conditioning. We have a new oven, microwave and coffee maker. With all new crockery, cutlery and accessories. There is a washer and dishwasher also. We have an iron and ironing board should you wish to use it and there is a clothes airer on the balcony to dry any towels.
The main bedroom is a king size bed and has built in wardrobes with a safety deposit box within for use. This bedroom has an en suite which is a bath with shower over. We have a dressing table with mirror over too and bedside tables with lamps. There is a hairdryer for guests use. There are blackout curtains and voiles at the patio doors which lead out onto the balcony.
The second bedroom is twin beds, again with built in wardrobes. There are hangers in both wardrobes (although if travelling with children maybe best to bring some small ones) There is a bedside table with a lamp and wall lights. There are blackout curtains and voiles at the patio doors which lead out onto the balcony.
The main bathroom is a shower unit with sink and vanity unit. We provide bedding and towels for the bathroom. The only thing you’d need would be your beach/pool towels. We have a sofa in the lounge with two additional chairs.
The balcony gets the winter sun from mid afternoon and the summer sun from mid/late morning. The apartment is ground level from the front door onto the walkway around the pool area so it couldn’t be more convenient for grabbing a drink or snack from the apartment whilst sunbathing. Don’t worry about noise from the pool area, once the door is closed there’s no noise. Within the footprint of the complex there is a couple of little cafes for breakfast, lunch or just drinks. There is a little shop selling snacks, alcohol and drinks also. All these are on the exterior of the footprint of the complex.
Utilising the lifts and walkway within the complex you are able to access the “top road” through a door leading onto the road. This gives easy access to the Lidl supermarket for you to get your provisions in. There are also bars, cafes and restaurants along this road too and this is where the nearest pharmacy is should you need to use. There is a post office up this side and also a bus stop if you want to travel further afield. You can also take a walk down the hill and follow the coast around to Playa La Arena where there are further bars, shops, cafes and restaurants. This is where the biggest beach is also, but bear in mind it is black sand.
In Puerto Santiago itself there are shops, bars and restaurants. There is a little supermarket too if you don’t want a trip to Lidl. You can access a lovely coastal walk just a few minutes walk outside the front of the complex which takes you past the front of the Barcelo Hotel and around to a little fishing/beach cove eventually. Doing this walk you can capitalise on a drink and/or food at the sea front where you can watch the sun go down over La Gomera. We got engaged at a restaurant here which is just beautiful.
The walk over to Los Gigantes can be done two ways. Out of the “top door” previously spoken about, up the hill and then down into Los Gigantes itself. This way prevents the need to climb any steps. The other way is by coming out of the complex and turning right and then crossing the road to walk over the viewing point at Crab Island which overlooks the natural pool. This way does involve approximately 25-30 steps. If you follow the other pedestrians doing the same you arrive into LG. Here, there are a multitude of shops, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. There is a harbour where you can feed the large fish any leftover bread or you can catch a boat ride to go Whale/Dolphin watching (around 25 euros adults and 15 euros children.) There are some nice ice-cream shops here too and a couple of bars to enjoy a cold drink. There is a beach here too, which is also black sand. There is a mini golf area in the town and tennis courts for the sporty.
The airport is approximately 35-40 minutes away depending on traffic/time of day arriving/departing. All the low cost carriers fly to Tenerife South. Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet 2, Tui. Its definitely worth having a look around as there are some bargains to be had at different times of the year.
We can accommodate 5 people if you wish. We can arrange for an additional bed to be placed into the lounge area. We can also accommodate a travel cot too in either of the bedrooms.
