「Very friendly and hospitable staff. They greeted us with juice, personal introductions and help with luggage upon arrival, and even washed our car overnight! Excellent cooked breakfast including omelette, crepes, and fresh fruit. We had a bit of trouble getting there due to Google maps sending us on a roundabout route (very narrow dirt road) when we should have gone straight from the main paved road to the front entrance. Overall, a pleasant overnight. 」

「Not as shown in pictures. Low key creepy… There was no free airport pickup (as suggested)—we had to pay. No running water, no toilet seat, bugs in the sink, no electrical outlets and very cold. We were also asked to pay twice. On the positive they fed us a nice breakfast. 」

「I can't say enough good things about Kaswende Farm. The owner was the most remarkable host I've ever met. He arranged for a pick-up for me and treated me like family on my arrival. It was my first day in Tanzania and in fact in Africa, and he did a remarkable job at getting me up to speed with what to be aware of while travelling through the country. 「I stayed at Kaliwa Lodge for 4 nights and was impressed by the tranquil and peaceful environment. The terrace is a great place to watch the sacred Mountain Kilimanjaro at different times of the day, and be connected to the nature. I brought along my yoga mat to practise on the terrace every morning. Food is great too, they prepared wonderful vegetarian food for me on request everyday. Staff is very nice and treat every guest with their heart. I really enjoyed staying at Kaliwa Lodge. 」

「The garden area felt like a little slice of paradise with bunnies running around freely helping to maintain the grass - as well as donkeys. Monkeys were climbing in the trees, and occasionally a large turtle would cross the lawn. The place itself was very calming and the staff sweet and helpful.」
