When the guests are done enjoying the beach, the guests can relax around the fire pit and watch the sunset on the back deck.
    The property is located in a secluded area it is recommended to get all the grocery essentials at the main route, route 13, before coming into the property. There is a grocery store, Food Lion, 13 miles or 20 minutes away if there is a need to get something during your stay at the property. The property is on well water. It is potable, but for guests that have sensitive stomachs, bringing drinking water is recommended. The fireplace is for display only.

Place is nice and big. It’s in a quiet town which is what we were looking for. The place has well water but when you turn it on it smells like straight rotten eggs. It was definitely hard to shower because that’s all you can smell. During our stay we had some electrical issues but the owner was very attentive to it. Just wish it was caught before our stay. Overall we had a nice stay!

The property is misrepresented. The area (Saxis) is dreary beyond description. The biggest disappointment was the “beach”. A private beach was advertised. There is a small wisp of soggy sand with an old kitchen chair in the sand and plastic trash strewn about. The sleep number bed is broken and not adjustable. We will definitely not come back here.

Beautiful property, perfect getaway location, there are no stores so get your stuff before you come into town but it’s lovely!

Amazing Views

We had a wonderful 4 days stay. The location is peaceful and quiet with beautiful views. The house was clean and the host communicated well. Would definetly stay again.

Chincoteague Pony vacation

It was very easy to check-in to the home. The kitchen is well-equipped & all was very clean. It's a very nice home. We enjoyed it there. Nice & quiet.

They did not tell us until after we got there that they always boil the water when they stay there. There were things there that other guests complained about that they never changed. The water wasn't even turned on , so obviously the place wasn't cleaned. The were good about refunding our money.

Quaint Property with Beautiful View of the Bay

The property was absolutely lovely, and well equipped to entertain a group for a weekend away. The extra amenities were greatly appreciated (bikes, grill, kayak) and the neighbors were incredibly friendly. We highly recommend for a weekend getaway from the city!

Comfortable and pleasant stay

The property is beautiful and it was so nice to be so close to the water. Sunset view and fire pit out back were fun bonuses. Everything went smoothly and as expected. We enjoyed our stay, thank you!

The property was just as described. The sunsets were stunning. We saw a fox family on two evenings playing in the neighbor’s yard. The remote location is perfect if you want to get away from it all in a rural area. The host was responsive and friendly.

The house is beautiful and very clean, not as isolated as we thought based on listing. View amazing, needed lots of bug spray- but were notified of this by owner ahead of time, so it was all good.

Family weekend getaway

Perfect area to spend some time in a kayak or sunning on the small, private beach directly behind the house. Our toddler had a blast in the house and running around by the water collecting sea glass.

Truly a getaway!

Delightful little place for a getaway. Truly uncrowded ...we sat on the beach all day, reading and other than the neighbor going for a beach walk, saw no one. So if you're looking for a Ocean City experience, this is not the place for you!!

Very quiet

Very nice well kept home on Saxis Island. Disappointed in the “beach” during high tide there isn’t a beach and low tide allowed about 15 feet of beach. We didn’t find any see glass but did find some shells. The property provided two bicycles which were great for exploring the island and two kayaks which were also fun. Overall we had a very enjoyable time.

Minor Issues

The CO2 meter went off twice once in the middle of the night and the day. The beach is trashy and not what you imagine a beach yk be. And the matress was super hard.

I had extremely high hopes based on the initial correspondence with the renter. He was very responsive and even went above and beyond to address my concerns prior to our stay. He went so far as to send me video of the "private beach" access as this was the primary reason for us booking the location and I was concerned about just how much shoreline we'd have access to. Prior to our arrival he warned us to bring bug spray as the temps were warming up and they were becoming more prevalent and I thanked him for the heads up. Little did I know how bad the bug infestation would be. Upon arrival we were greeted by a swarm of biting flies. I mean they literally surrounded our car the minute we pulled up and continued to be an issue anytime we were outside. Upon checking in and inspecting the home I noticed an abundance of spider webs (with spiders in them) and what appeared to be rodent feces in the utensils drawer as well as the cabinets with pots and pans. In both bathrooms the poorly fitted toilet seats were so loose they practically came off the toilets and we had to hover to avoid sitting directly on the toilet bowl. I advised him of this and sent pictures asking about the feces. He responded that it was not rodent feces and offered 10% off for the bugs. Also we did not get to enjoy the beach because no amount of Deet or Citronella can combat a swarm of biting flies. Please deep clean the home and treat it for pests prior to renting again.

Family Vacation

We enjoyed our time there, the house is great for the most part. Check in was easy and we didn’t have any issues finding it. Communication with the host was timely and great. Our only issues were the amenities. Luckily, we had packed a lot of what we needed for cooking but the coffee pot was only a 5 cup pot. For a family of coffee drinkers this meant we had to brew 4 or 5 pots every day. A larger coffee pot would be nice. The kitchen trash can was the size of one for the bathroom which meant we just had to put a bag on the floor instead of using a trash can. The king size sleep number bed is not comfortable no matter what number you put it on. Otherwise everything was great. We would probably book the house again but the sleep number bed and the coffee pot might be a reason to look at different places to stay. Overall though it was great.
