Wonderful Stay!

We absolutely loved our stay! The house was beautiful. Very clean with amazing views of the ocean. Great location, super walkable to town. We felt very safe and well taken care of by the hosts. They let us use their beach stuff and were happy to help with recommendations. We can't wait to come back!

Mexican Paradise

The photos don’t do this rental justice. The rooms are spacious and the views from the patio are amazing. It is truly paradise sitting outside the unit. The hosts have made sure everything you need is there. Have used VRBO many times over the years and this is one of my favorite rentals. Thank you!

Family Getaway

We were impressed from the moment Joan graciously opened the door for us. Joan showed us the utmost hospitality with giving us a lay of the land, setting up our transportation to/from the airport and offering suggestions for daily activities. The accommodations were even nicer in person than even in the photos, if that’s even possible. We would gladly stay at Joan and Dave’s beautiful place as well as suggest it to family and friends in the future.

Perfect for families!

Our family of 4 with 2 teenage daughters spent the most amazing week here! The property is so comfortable and we felt so at home. The location is perfect to escape the busy spring break traffic and sounds while still being a 5-10 min walk from great restaurants and the beach! We hope to be back!

Everything we expected and so much more!

First of all, Joan and Dave were absolutely incredible with communication, setting up our shuttle, a golf cart, and providing so many amenities on the property. The property is as stunning as anywhere I have ever stayed. The landscape is beautiful and well maintained. The casita is otherworldly. So picturesque. Thank you for an amazing trip! This was a magical trip for our family and not one we will forget.

A Dream Place

Dave and Joan took care of us like we were family and the accommodations were over the top. This is truly a special place that is close to town but makes you feel like you are in a private retreat. Would definitely go back

Such a great stay!!!!

This was the perfect spot!!! The house perfectly fit our needs. It was clean and had everything we needed. The rooms were big and comfortable. It was within walking distance to anything we wanted to eat or do. So much fun! The owners were perfect. They were easy to communicate with and a fun to visit with. We would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous one week stay!

Had a great one week getaway with my family. Our stay was very comfortable. The suite is spacious and had everything we needed. The casa is nestled up and away from town, so it’s quite quiet. There is a lovely breeze that travels through the space, A/C was not needed! The beds are comfortable, the space was very clean and well taken care of. An easy/quick stroll into town or the beaches. Would recommend this place to others! The hosts were super lovely and very helpful whenever we needed assistance or had a question. Great experience.

Heaven in Sayulita

This property is truly a masterpiece of Mexican craftsmanship. From the stacked ocean rocks that are cemented around the walkways and the ocean pebbles that make the outdoor showers, your eyes are constantly pleased with the beauty surrounding you. Even the colors chosen for around the pool area are very pleasing. The view is also an added tropical art. Renters prosper with the perfect selection of Mexican artifacts that Joann has so tastefully surrounded the casas. Staying on this property, will not disappoint.

Magical Bliss

I could not have imagined having as much fun as I did, and Joan and Dave were a large part of it. They greeted us with open arms and were attentive and informative whenever we had a need or a question. Their hospitality is super! They had a binder full of things to do, places to eat, and even a tip cheat sheet. We are definitely planning a return trip! Thank you Joan and Dave!

Great place and great owners!

Loved this stay, and the owners were so helpful! They answered all of our inquiries quickly, and even helped us with transportation to and from the airport, renting a golf cart and all of their favorite beaches and restaurants! We were so thankful for their help! And the location was close to town, but still quiet, with views of the hills and ocean from our rooms and patio. Loved the soaker pool after a day at the beach or exploring. As a mom with two teen daughters, we felt safe knowing that the whole place was gated and the owners were steps away, although we still felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Would definitely recommend this spot to friends and family!

Beautiful retreat

We stayed here over Christmas with our 20-something son and his best friend, and the house was the perfect setup for us. The bedrooms are on either side of the living area, giving you privacy from each other if you need it. The second bedroom even has its own entrance. It is a beautiful house with wonderful gardens, large deck and an amazing view of the beach and jungle below. Very quiet and private. The owners have taken alot of care to see that the house is equipped with everything you need, and are eager to make your visit perfect. It's quite close to town, and even thought it is a bit of an uphill walk, it's an easy one.

Birthday Get Away

Our stay at Casa Colibri was outstanding! We stayed at Buena Vista. The accommodations far exceeded our expectations!! Beautiful decor, full ammenities and a lovely cooling pool. Joan and Dave are exceptional hosts! We had a complimentary tour of town and even a pick up in the pouring rain our last night. Sayulita is a lovely town. Great shops, restaurants and beach...there is lot's to see and do. Casa Colibri is situated in a neighborhood that is close to everything. Beautiful view and landscaping. It requires a little uphill walking, but you get use to it. Next time, we will stay longer, rent a golf cart and come in cooler weather. Looking forward to going back. I highly recommend this gem of a rental. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Beautiful casita, warm and welcoming hosts, optimal location

This was our third trip to Sayulita, but our first stay at Casa Colibri and we will certainly come back. We were one of the first guests to stay at their brand new one bedroom casita. We have used VRBO all over the world and this one exceeded our expectations. We took a leap of faith and rented it while it was still under construction based on the photos of the main home and Joan's understanding of what we were looking for. The home was beautifully constructed and had all the kitchen equipment many rentals skimp on. We love to shop locally and cook at home and everything from the knives (sharp!), cutting boards, to the full size stainless steel appliances made every meal a delight to prepare. Joan and Dave are warm, gracious hosts that are readily available for any questions or suggestions, but you don't feel like you are camping out in their living room! A truly wonderful stay and a great value!

Amazing Family Friendly Location

This was my second adventure to Sayulita. I traveled solo the first go, this time we traveled as a family. Casa Colibri was the perfect location. It was a quick minute to all the amenities that Sayulita has to offer. Close to town, close to the beach. We did not have intentions of renting a car, and have not regrets with that decisions. Golf carts are available to rent if necessary, and taxi rides are cheap. If you want to wander into other surrounding communities, the taxi service is located with a 5-10 minute walk. Joan and Dave are very accommodating, they helped set up a car service from the airport with a quick stop at the larger grocery store along the way. The Casa has all the features to feel comfortable and homey. The basics are provided with a few surprise extras like beach chairs, towels, and boogie boards. The home itself is aesthetically very Mexican Chic, with beautiful foliage surroundings. It feels very private and safe which was a concern when traveling with children. Sayulita is a surfing type of village, so the beach is a must. You can go south to a more private beach, by that, I mean fewer people, or head to the main beach which has a lot more vendors selling their goodies, beach massages, and surf schools. Other attractions to consider are a deep sea fishing guided tour, a trip the Las Marietas Islands, and a quick taxi ride to San Pancho (more primitive culture). A favorite restaurant was Rustico off the main drag and the street tacos from the folks close to the main fruit/veggie stand. We were going to cook at home, but food is so delicious and affordable that it was worth going out. Consider staying a bit later on the square for some live gypsy entertainment, worth every minute. We are hoping that we meet Joan and Dave again for another stay. Casa Colibri will be our go to, and we will recommend to any other friends and family considering a visit that way.

Sunny Sayulita

Such a beautiful property. Joan and Dave were wonderful hosts and made the process effortless. The casita was beautifully decorated with Mexican tile counters, sinks, and flooring. Very cozy, quiet, just two blocks into town and two more to the beach. The food and activities were amazing to include whale watching riding horses on the beach. Easy walkable town with friendly people everywhere. Thank you again for a trip of a lifetime.
