“George was the perfect host. He drove us down to the ocean where the restaurants are located several times. There was a fruit salad waiting for us on the fridge when we arrived. He gave us grapes from his garden on another day. He gave us advice on getting around the area by bus and regaled us with stories about Greece and his past. ”

“The hotel looks great in general. It is located in Mati which is about 10 euro taxi fare from the Rafina Port. The swimming pool is not too big but good enough, overlooking the bay area. Facilities are all up to standard. All the staff we encountered are friendly and helpful. The reception has been of great help in directing us the transportation to visit Athens, which is about 45 mins away by bus.”

The check in and out was a breeze and the car service provided (for a 25 euros paid to the driver Themis) was very helpful as when we arrived there was a taxi strike. The host was kind enough to provide a list of local restaurants and markets and guidance on how to use the local transportation to get into Athens city center. “I booked this hotel because it was near to the airport and I knew I'd need to crash hard after 20+ hours of air travel. In the past I've booked the hotel AT the airport for this purpose, but it's gotten to be exceptionally expensive. This was an amazing option and I will stay here again on my Athens arrive and departure days. It has everything you could possible need, and was easy to find via rental car. You can park your car in a secure underground garage but I felt mine was safe just outside……

“We stayed in a penthouse apartment (sounds bougie, but the price was excellent!). The view from our apartment was lovely. Our apartment was on the roof, and we had access to a covered picnic table. The town was really Greek and not touristy. The beach was fabulous and had a walkway near it to enjoy. It’s only a 20-minute cab ride to the airport—a wonderful place to visit before or after a cruise, or just by itself!”
