"A small inn ran by an old couple; I didn't see much of the husband, he seemed to be busy doing various tasks around the property. The wife was a kind lady, who will help you easily if you need it, she also has a decent grasp of English so you shouldn't need much google translate, especially if you know a bit if Japanese yourself. "Overall property was excellent and location was great within walking distance to all the famous temples in Nara Park. However when requesting a taxi to take us back to the train station it took longer than expected and we missed our train departure. Also taxi/car is limited as the hotel is located directly in the park. Walking is faster but with heavy luggage it’s not very convenient."

The facilities may be a bit dated compared to big brands, but the staff, the food, view and the serene surroundings more than make up the fancy gadgets that might not be available. "石上神宮参拝に朝いちばんに　行きたかったので 「やまべ」さんに泊まらせていただきました。 素泊まりでしたので　多くは望まなかったし お値段がとてもリーズナブルだったので　それなりだと 思います。 おばちゃんが　親切でお話するのが楽しかったです。 また　自転車を無料で借りられたので　石上神宮まで行くのがショートカットできてありがたかったです。 でないと　けっこう歩くことになるので．．． また　天理に行くときには　お願いすると思います。"
