Clean room/Friendly Staff/Pleasant stay. We really enjoyed our stay at the Howard Hotel in Sliema. The complimentary breakfast was a lovely touch, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. A special mention to the jolly gentleman who ran the breakfast area — he worked hard to keep everyone happy and well looked after. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was superb. Our room was on the small side and could have done with a little fresh paint in places, but overall it was comfortable and perfectly fine. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Ruhig gelegen, sauber, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, Nähe zum Meer und zur Bushaltestelle, tolle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Lidl - ca 7 Minuten zu Fuß), viele Restaurants in der Nähe, gutes Frühstück. Leider gibt es keine Gläser, kein Besteck, kein Geschirr und keinen Wasserkocher auf dem Zimmer, dafür aber einen Mini-Kühlschrank und TV.

Amazing hotel. Clean, they change your towels, make your bed and tidy up your room every day, great breakfast, they even leave the air conditioning on for me when I'm out during the day which is a bit of overkill, but hey the hospitality is great. Fab location as well, in Sliema so not too busy, but very close to the bus stop and the waterfront

Das Hotel ist für den Preis sehr gut. Das Frühstück war einfach aber umfangreich. Das Zimmer sauber und das Personal sehr nett. Das Hotel liegt ca.100m vom Meer in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße entfernt und ist verkehrstechnisch sehr gut gelegen.

Single use rooms need to be improved. The walls are to thin and having not having a bathroom inside the room is really not convenient. Also, the bed frame, matteras and pillow were probably the worst I had in my whole life.

Staff very friendly and room was clean. Location is super convenient for all buses and Main Street access to Sliema Ferry / Tour Boats. Breakfast was varied and well equipped. Room itself was let down slightly by poorly fitted gaps around door / minimal soundproofing (could be fixed with a door seal), but overall greatly appreciated the quality of hotel and daily towel housekeeping.

Despite checking three times that the hotel was aware of my request for vegan options, I only had cucumber, sweetcorn, tomatoes, lettuce and whole fruit available to me. They seemed reluctant to provide any vegan bread and took persuading to provide vegan milk. This aside, staff were extremely friendly from the outset, the room was very pleasant but sandwiched two single beds to form an awkward double the was pressed against the full length mirror, preventing its full use. We appreciated the bottles of free water restocked each time the room was cleaned. Overall, we would really recommend this hotel - it's on walking distance to shops, shopping malls, transport links in abundance, short walk to St Julian's and plenty of amazing restaurants in Sliema and surrounding areas. All of these amenities are within 5-30 min walks and so close to the harbour that you can see it from the hotel entrance just a very short 5 mins walk away. A great location off the main road and, therefore, very quiet. We felt extremely safe walking about at night in the area. Lidl only a 10min walk away. The hotel is very modern and pleasant inside.

Their standard room is a prison cell

The room resembled a prison cell, with small windows overlooking the back of the building, where the air conditioning and other equipment are located, and covered in immense amounts of dust. The room didn't seem clean; the bathroom had slimy, mouldy areas, and the towels and bed linens had probably been whitened a few years ago. And this is what they call a "standard" room.

Lovely hotel in an excellent area

If you're looking for a comfy bed and a/c in a good location then you can't go wrong with The Howard. Beds are comfy, a/c works brilliantly, shower has a good pressure, and there's a fridge int he room. Its a perfect base for getting out and exploring, with bus-stops nearby. Its also a 15min walk from Sliema Ferries for trips to Gozo/Comino/Valetta/Three Cities. Its a 5min walk from the nearest beach, and there's literally dozens of restaurants within walking distance. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they are a wealth of local knowledge - make sure you quiz them on local hotspots. Breakfast is simple but hot and tasty, and general room cleanliness is good.
