“I accidentally left in our room a package that contains all the most important things that one would carry onto the airplane, including extra cash, credit cards, inflatable pillow....etc. When I realized it was no longer with me the next day, I called the owner Julia as my last hope. She picked up the phone right away and told me that she has been so worried for me (she only had my contact information from my home country, not from the US). We drove back to pick up my package. “This place was spotless. The grounds are insanely pretty. At 2400ft elevation, it was cool wvery night. Mary, the host, is awesome. Minimal kitchen capabilities was only a slight issue. Really AMAZING and FABULOUS place to stay for a great price. Being right near the cloud forest sanctuary and many of the coffee farms was very nice as well”

“This spot was awesome! The neighborhood didn’t have a great reputation with the locals but we honestly had no problems at all staying on this part of the island. The hosts were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed and even offered lots of really great recommendations for things to do while we were there. There isn’t a lot in the way of shops nearby, but they do have the essentials– a quick mart, gas, and even a pizza place. Very quiet and the stars at night are unmatched. The yurt……

“This is our second time to stay here. We loved it, and came back because it was so quiet and comfortable, and such a beautiful place and view. The yurts are well equipped and clean. The elevation makes for comfortable cool, but not cold, nights. The central sky light is spectacular at night with so many stars. It is calm and quiet and beautiful with various flowers. But it is easily accessed from Kona South Point and Volcanoes National Park. If we get back to the big island again, we hope to……

“This place is tropical magic and serene surroundings. Equipped kitchen and some condiments on shelf. French press coffee. Scenic views and utterly fantastic night sounds! Full compliment of dishes and there was an outside bbq.. washer and dryer great and we hung towels outdoors. The entrance from Hwy 11 to property is a bit tricky but one catches on quickly. David and Wendy super excellent hosts!”

“The cottage was everything we hoped for and more. The cottage was beautifully decorated with many fresh bouquets of plants and flowers. The garden was enchanting. Gale the Host was thoughtful and kind. She greeted us with homemade applebanana bread, a bowl of fresh homegrown papaya, lemon applebanana, and lime. Gale gave us a tour of the entire property and gracious throughout our stay.”
