Could’ve been more comfortable
We were unaware that we were staying in a maisonette, if known we would’ve asked questions upon booking.
Hotels.com needs to update the owners phone number. Communication could’ve been better prior to arrival day, but overall it was great on the day.
The apartment was very clean, lovely layout and well presented, although signage could’ve been a bit more professional.
The 2 single beds had mattresses that were very uncomfortable, they had the feel of being over 15 years old, dipped in the middle and uncomfortable. The sofa bed in the living room was not fit for 2 people, it squeaked whenever you turned on it and was also very uncomfortable to sleep on. However the double bed was comfortable.
The apartment was in a great location, a short 5 minute walk to the seafront and a lovely fish and chip shop on the bottom of the street.
Parking was free in a private car park, but it would be a tight squeeze for a larger vehicle, we managed just about with a Kia Sportage.
Our party was made up of 5 adults, and we didn’t feel safe at night because there were no means to lock the front door to the building, only that we had an electrical code on our door knob to get into our apartment.
It would’ve been nice to have a chain internally to add as an extra security measure.
We were not best pleased with the builders that were occupying the apartment upstairs.
They woke us up at 6am stamping up and down the stairs, one even decided it was ok to sing at the top his lungs.
