Island Hide-Away..WITH BOAT DOCK.. This magical, authentic 1940's knotty pine cabin echo's summertime past. Step back in time when you enter this super cozy, nostalgic, happy little cozy cabin. Private island is host of 10 homes. Large deck with tiki bar, private boat dock. Gas grill and charcoal grill for outdoor entertaining. Fire pit for smore's under the stars, outdoor shower. Enjoy a peaceful get away that allows you to completely unplug and brings you back to yester year! NO PARTIES !! 2 kayak, 1 canoe on site for guest use.
The space
Magical authentic 1940's cozy cabin nestled in the pines, on "The Island" (walk over foot bridge) Congamond Lakes ! private boat dock 1 canoe, 2 kayak on site for guest use. ,bring your power boat or rent a boat at local marina - ! 2 Restaurants/Bar with live bands. Very peaceful & tranquil yet lots of action on the lake ! Back To Basics ! Rustic living ! .... summer/seasonal cottage (NO HEAT or air conditioning - space electric heaters for fall). Bike Trail & Public Beach nearby - Bedroom 1 has a double bed for sleeping 2. Bedroom 2 has twin bed and cot, sleeping loft has a double mattress. There is a sleeper sofa on the porch. Hot Water is limited to 5 minute shower ! with 10 minute recovery for next shower ! Stereo, Tiki Bar, Small T.V. for VHS & DVD movies. Grocery Store, Gas Station, CVS, Ocean State Job Lot all less than 2 miles away ! The Berkshires 30 minutes, Two local wineries, Brignole Vineyards in Granby, CT and Lost Acres in W. Granby, CT are a must for wine enthusiasts. 6 Flags New England 15 min, Yankee Candle - 30 min, 15 min to Hartford, CT or Bradley Airport and Springfield, MA home of Basketball Hall Of Fame & Doctor Suess ! SIMPLE PLEASURES !! Play Cards & Board Games ! Clear Your Head Here and go "off the grid"!! Very Cozy, homey cabin. Linens provided for an additional $50.00 fee no laundry on island. Charming, rustic older cottage with a spectacular location. There is a very steep hill you must climb to this island hideaway which is totally worth it when you see the view. The outdoor entertainment areas are many and the house is well-equipped with everything you need. The dock, kayaks and other water toys make this property a good value but the view, combined with a private, wooded environment, is the real value!

Although we live only 25 minutes away, we had never been to this lake. Definitely off the grid as written and we found the cottage charming as a 1922 cottage could be. We were surprised at the noise from a local event center on Sunday evening, but they got quiet after 10pm. Boaters were active until 11pm on the weekends which also surprised us. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings were nice and peaceful. You must be able bodied to access the lake from this cabin. The common beaches had already closed for the season and the cabin only had a dock with ladder. Water shoes a must. Great location.

This cottage reminds me of the place my family went to in the 1950s for our summer vacations. It has all of the charm and nostalgic comfort one could ask for in a summer get-away that I remember from my childhood with one major difference being that it has indoor plumbing with hot water. We enjoyed our stay on the lake, the quiet mornings, the area attractions, and the comforting surroundings the cottage provided.

Once you climbed the hill, this place is exactly like the pictures! Beautiful, quiet, peaceful… serene, you couldn’t ask for more. Well perhaps AC during a 90heatwave but they had a lot of fans to keep the air moving. Outdoors was gorgeous, the breeze lovely. Like I said, I couldn’t ask for more. Spent time floating on the lake which was beautiful as well.

Very scenic lake view. The grounds need to be cleaned up. There is broken chairs ect. that need to be thrown out. The windows need new screens as I taped the storm door. A little tlc this place would be exceptional.

Really sweet little cabin by the lake - we loved access to kayaks and dock, the sunset, and being tucked away on an island. Very quaint and cozy.

Fishing weekend on the lake.

A couple friend enjoyed a nice long weekend on the lake. The location was perfect. We were able to keep our kayaks right on the dock. It was nice to hang outside on the deck, enjoy the tiki bar or sit by a nice fire. We would definitely go back.

Graduation

5 person family. Mother , father , daughter and 2 sons all kids in their 20’s. Our middle son graduated this weekend so we cooked , ate , took the boats out and hung out on the deck and played board games. Pure heaven. An escape from reality. The cottage is beautiful. A trip back in time.
