Only one comment was that room 1 was noisy as directly above bar/restaurant and there was a group of men on a conference who were up until around 1am. However, could not fault anything else. Breakfast was wonderful ”

“The room was unique - with a view of the east window and spire of a medieval church ... from the bath positioned in the bay window. The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and well presented. Staff welcoming. A good dinner and breakfast.”

“A hotel with a labyrinth of corridors! Room was mostly clean, good shower, comfy bed but mould near the ceiling on 2 walls. Breakfast was not that good tbh, sour milk and suspiciously quick full English which looked like it was pre cooked & heated up.”

“Lovely hotel in a beautiful town. Our room was £163 (members price ) and our room was tiny ! Low ceilings and I couldn’t stand up straight in the room. So small no wardrobe would fit in which is inconvenient as nowhere to hang clothes. In the bathroom you could not sit up in the bath because of the height and slope of the roofline. So think £163 very expensive. Nice coffee tea & cookies in the room and nice toiletries. Good breakfast and lovely friendly and helpful staff. Generally very nice……

“Ok it’s a small hotel that does not have the usual gym and facilities but if all you need is a room with bath/shower it’s ok. Place could do with a coat of paint in places however the lounge bar overlooking the lake is great”

“The owner has to do the school run but leave her number on the door so you don’t have to wait long. She is really professional, polite and welcoming. Room was comfy and quite with a fridge and microwave in room which is a bonus for longer stays. No parking but a car park is situated 2 mins away and £6.10 for 24hrs is a good rate. Also paid by phone so you don’t have to worry about tickets on dashboard. Excellent Chinese takeaway a few doors down very reasonably priced. Didn’t try the……

“My friend and I had a lovely stay here last night. We arrived in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed by Karen. We were really well looked after by Karen and her team and nothing was too much trouble. Our twin room was lovely and the beds really comfortable with lovely touches in the bathroom in case we had forgotten anything. Our food in the restaurant was delicious … the best steak I have had in a while and my friend said her burger was amazing. A real gem of a place at Rutland and we will……
