Located canal-front and just a 6-minute walk or 2-minute bicycle ride to the Gulf beach, this Cypress home is found within the prestigious St. George Plantation community and is surrounded by pines and palmettos for the ultimate in privacy and relaxation. Elegantly rustic, Saltwater Charlie’s has a casual and relaxed vibe with an upscale feel.
The open living area is bathed in natural light w/ water views, 2 leather sofas, recliners and a large, flat screen TV w/ DVD player (sorry, fireplace is not available). A nearby game table is the perfect place for a family boardgame, puzzle or card game and a separate dining table seats up to 6 with additional dining options outside on the covered deck.
The beautifully updated gourmet kitchen boasts granite counters, tile backsplash, gas range and one-of-a-kind Cypress cabinets. Stainless steel appliances, a dedicated food pantry and a separate desk area complete this space, all with a gorgeous canal view! A full-size washer/dryer and utility room are located just past the kitchen and the breakfast bar seats up to 3.
The furnished and screened-in porch just off of the kitchen features comfortable lounge seating and a large, daybed swing for those lazy afternoons.
Just past the kitchen, two guest bedrooms (King and Queen bedroom) share a hall bathroom with combination tub/shower, and quick and easy access to a convenient elevator (the elevator travels between the ground level and the 1st floor only).
The top floor spacious Master Suite features ocean-hued stained-glass windows, a King-sized bed, large walk-in closet and private bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. A furnished and covered private balcony offers grand views of the Apalachicola Bay and is a great spot to enjoy the sunset.
Your private screened pool is surrounded by natural vegetation for a tranquil swim and the covered carport offers plenty of shaded space to entertain with picnic table, propane grill and fish cleaning sink. A hot/cold outdoor shower w/ waterfall showerhead makes beach or pool cleanup a breeze. (PLEASE NOTE: Pool heat is not available; spill-over spa is not heated/jetted.)
Located on a canal that empties into the Apalachicola Bay, you can launch your kayak or SUP board directly from your own private dock to explore the nearby marsh and Bay waters. Flats boats with low draft requirements are also suitable at this location.
As a guest staying inside the St. George Plantation community, you can enjoy miles of bike paths, walking trails, access to fishing at Bob Sike’s Cut, and being minutes from the serene Gulf beach. The nearby St. George Plantation Clubhouse offers a community lap pool, fitness center, and tennis court. Additional amenities within the Plantation include three dedicated pickle ball courts on Sea Pine, a beautifully designed full-size pool at Resort Village, and a second tennis court located off Leisure Lane and Pelican Court.

Our stay at Saltwater Charlie's was perfect! The quiet and solitude made for the most relaxing beach house vacation; between star-watching on the dock, drinks by the pool, board games in the evenings, and walks on the beach we really made the most of the everything the house had to offer. Would be a great stay for families or some couples. Make sure to look for the Milky Way at night from the dock!

Peaceful and beautiful
Property location and grounds were beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The layout of the house was great for our family of 4. The kitchen had everything you needed for cooking. The screened in porch is a great feature and the space under the house is excellent. The dock was another bonus and had access to the bay for kayaking and paddle boarding. Would stay here again.

Comfortable stay
The property and house were very clean and comfortable. It’s so quiet and peaceful. The pool was perfect for our kids to play in and the screen added the much needed protection from the bugs. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. The beach is not far at all and easy to access.

We loved this home, and the peaceful, private location. We spent lots of time with our kids in the pool, enjoyed coffee on the screened-in deck each morning, walked to the beach, and launched our kayaks off of the dock. We were also happy to have both the weight room and large, clubhouse pool available. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the house was clean. Loved everything about our stay!

Anniversary Stay
Everything was well maintained and clean. If you're planning on staying in April the pool will be a bit colder. The dock was great, view was beautiful, but if you plan on being outside in the evening bring bug spray! Overall experience was wonderful!

Our favorite house so far
We have rented a house on SGI twice a year for almost twenty years. This is my favorite so far. Comfortable beds, great showers, beautiful views, really lovely home. Well appointed kitchen. We enjoyed having a private dock. The water is pretty shallow, but perfect for putting in kayaks. Great bird watching

Hubby and I had a great stay at Saltwater Charlie’s. It was super private with amazing sunsets. We took several bike rides, fished in the cut and ate some awesome local restaurants. We stayed in the king bed on the lower level because the main suite upstairs was difficult to cool. The king bed on the lower level was perfectly comfortable. Everything was clean and comfortable and the pool was also amazing. We would return to this unit.

Our family has been staying at different homes throughout the Plantation for many years and we can say that SWC is one of our favorites on the bay. We loved the screened front porch for afternoon napping and the kitchen was perfectly organized and well-stocked. Everything was immaculate and all the beds were very comfy. We also loved the feeling of privacy amidst all the surrounding trees and foliage - but still had an amazing view of the bay and the beautiful sunsets. Also, a shout-out to the staff at Forgotten Shores who were on the ball when we had an internet problem - they were very kind and considerate overall. We hope to be back to visit SWC soon!

We have stayed in a few rentals on SGI but this was our first time at Saltwater Charlie's. It did not disappoint! The home is located off the main road in the plantation and has beautiful water views. Very spacious and comfortably furnished with plenty of indoor and outdoor spots for relaxing and dining. Don't miss watching the sunset on the dock! We enjoyed watching the fish jump and hearing the bird call to each other. We look forward to another stay here!

This is a great house! Spotlessly clean, well maintained and very private. Pool was fabulous.....really enjoyed the screened bugs! Management company was very responsive as usual. Only suggestion would be to add additional air conditioning in the upstairs master bedroom....little too warm for comfortable sleeping during a couple of the warmer nights. Otherwise a wonderful week...highly recommend!

We loved this home. Spacious, great furniture, comfortable beds, excellent grounds, quiet and private. We brought our boat and kept at the dock. It's a bit shallow at low tide but we managed to get in and out of the canal ok. The dock had electricity and water, which is always a huge plus. Forgotten Shores is a top notch Company!

Our first stay at this location was wonderful! The house was spacious and beautifully appointed, including the kitchen. The furniture was comfortable, and the privacy was perfect. The sunset and moonset views were gorgeous! My husband got photographs of many varieties of wildlife along the canal. We very quickly felt very much at home and are looking forward to staying again next year!Also, cannot stress enough about the terrific property management team. They are so helpful and friendly and provide great service. We always feel like part of the family!

Pool lights weren't working but there were porch lights that helped us see in the pool area at night. The management company were pleasant to deal with. Would definitely stay here again.

Near perfect home!

The home was in a great location. Trees provided a great amount of privacy, screened in pool was nice,private dock to launch kayaks into the channel and bay if desired, perfect location for great sunset views from the dock or master bedroom deck. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dishes,Tupperware etc. Underneath the house was great for storage and setting up games. There were at least 3 different outdoor eating areas. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice. The master is huge! Only 2 miles from sikes cut and close to numerous beach access sites. Had a small problem with some kind of winged bugs in one bedroom one night but we got them all out and it was fine after that. The pool had an attached hot tub which didn't work as far as we could tell but it didn't advertise having one so no harm there. Everything was beautiful and clean. Rental property staff were super helpful in advance of trip and sent tons of info. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Salt Water Charlie's was a great house. The pool was sparkling clean, the bay view and dock were a great addition. Living room/kitchen dining had great views. Ten minute walk to beach. All in all this had all the amenities. Good place to stay
