Perfect Couples Getaway - Canal Front Apartment

In 1957 my great-grandmother became one of five permanent residents on St. George Island. This place has been a part of our family ever since. Whether it's your first trip or you've been coming for years, I invite you to stay at Little Tradition and experience the quiet beauty of SGI. Maybe you'll make it part of your history too.

Here are the details:

Cute and colorful, ground level, dog friendly apartment in a tranquil setting. Dock and fenced yard. Queen size bed and twin size sleeper love seat. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, large shower. Charcoal park grill outdoors.

Good for a couple, but the quiet, canal location also makes it ideal for a solo traveler wanting to fish or just recharge. The beach is an easy 1/2 mile walk away. Kayaks are available and included in the fee. Several island businesses have golf carts and bikes to rent for a fun, leisurely way to get to the beach or restaurants.

I hope you enjoy this little piece of paradise!

My family and I no longer live upstairs but may be there visiting. Otherwise, no one should be there. If you need space for a larger group ask about renting the upstairs (sleeps 6).

It was a good stay, we enjoyed it greatly. Would've like a little more room to ourselves, but that was mainly my fault! Host was great! We used the kitchen quite often! Laundry went great as well!!! Very clean place! Dock was enjoyable to hangout on!

Nice location on the canal. Construction going on on 2 sides of property-so no quietness, workers parking in street making it difficult to enter and exit. Basement apartment on a canal so damp, and oderous. But worst was fridge dying. ever smelt spoiled shrimp after 3 days? not nice. Host not too concerned about repairs. liked tile floors and new washer and dryer. Shower head plugged with calcium and limestone. Sparsely furnished with very worn loveseat and armed chair only. Crab Shack and dock badly in need of new lumber and repairs. will never stay again. note carefully features on VRBO because this is all thats usefull.Standard home items lacking and few. Dark because of low powered lights. You definately get what you pay for. And the Island is no longer a place for medium income folks-Everything is so high priced. Goodbye Harry A's. Road construction everywhere. Detours abound. Last go around for us!

Nice little place but a couple of things that would have made out stay better. We love to cook and a Air Fryer would have been really nice. Also there was no instructions on how to operate the dish washer and the washer and dryer. Trying to figure them out was frustrating, at best. We enjoyed the dock, caught a lot of Blue Crab and that was fun. One other thing, went to wash off our car from all the sand and bugs, but thr hose was split and not usable. Overall it was a great week, but a few little extra details would have made it better. Would rent again.

The apartment was clean and very well stocked. I have limited mobility due to a knee injury so I purposely looked for a place with fewer steps. This was ground level and easilly accessible for me. There were 2 steps to get into the bathroom but they were easy to manage. The kitchen has lots of appliances, pots, pans, plates, cups, silverware. The linens were sufficient for two people and clean. The washer and dryer were also convenient. We went out to the dock every night at sunset and it was so beautiful. I could have stayed there forever. One word of caution, bring bug spray if you are going to the dock. The mosquitoes love it out there also. We will hopefully be coming back to this lovely place sometime in the future.

Great Stay!

We loved this spot! Loved being on the water and the apartment was cozy and clean with a comfortable bed. The dock was a favorite feature - a fantastic place to watch the sunset over the water. Our dogs also loved it and we are always so grateful for rentals that allow our furry family members! The space did have a bit of a musty scent fyi for those that are sensitive, but it didn't really bother us. We would recommend this rental and would definitely stay again!

Perfect for a couple with a fur baby

Beautiful and quiet little canal home … we rented both the apartment and the upper part and it was perfect for my little family … the area is so quiet and serene… the sunsets are gorgeous …we caught blue crab on the dock and threw them in our low country boil ..we brought our golf carts and rode the island and ate at all the local restaurants… it was our 30th year on the island … highly recommend this beautiful home

Peaceful and relaxing

Sitting on the dock, reading and watching an occasional fish leaping out of the water was delightful! Totally quiet neighborhood and short drive to gorgeous state park beaches. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Loved it!

We had the best time! Especially loved that we got to bring our pups with us. Just a short ride by golf cart to the beach. We even were able to extend our trip by an extra day with no problems. Owner has excellent communication. Would love to come back again!

Quiet & complete

This was everything we needed for my husband & I & our dogs. Small but sufficient. We appreciated the heaters as it was cool. Short walk to wonderful beach. We sat on the dock & my husband threw in a few fishing lines. Thank you to the owner esp. for the fenced in spot for the dogs. Pet owners who come, please clean up after your pups! Leave it nice for the next guest.

Our second time staying here

We loved the location so much we stayed 2 weeks this time. It is small but has everything you need in a perfect location. I have to cook every meal so having a functional kitchen was important to me. Being able to walk out to our private dock was the best.

Loved it!

Loved the location and the canal dock. The unit was perfect for us and our dog. Unfortunately, our stay was cut short because of Helene and the mandatory evacuation. The owner kept us updated on the weather conditions and the evacuation. Of course we received a refund which was appreciated, but I wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!

Home away from home

Perfect place to stay with our Yorkie. My husband kyak fishes and it is the perfect location for that. Hostess is awesome to work with. This was our fifth year and hopefully we will be back next year.
