Excellent all around, especially for its top notch fine-dining restaurant (The Cove), and 3 private beaches. But, as one should expect when in the Caribbean, overpriced food in very, very small portions.
My wife and I came for our honeymoon. We were immediately greeted, by name, with a cold towel (it's hot there) and a glass of champagne at the hotel entrance. From that point forward, everything from service to food quality was exceptional. Staff is extremely friendly and always asking to make sure that all accommodations are satisfactory. I am not sure how busy the resort actually was, but it did not give off the appearance of being extremely busy - we never had issues finding pool or beach chairs. We even experienced a tropical storm (even though it veered away a bit) while we were there, and the staff provided us with "care packages" to take back to our rooms with enough food and drink for breakfast and lunch the following day. The staff truly makes noticeable effort to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. We were sad to go and would love to come back.
We found the nature and atmosphere of this resort to be perfect for a honeymoon, though we did see several families. The only way I would not recommend this hotel is if you are looking to party like a rockstar every night.
After reading all the glamorous reviews online, we decided to visit Blue Waters. We booked Cove all-inclusive with “consierge” service. The location is beautiful. The Cove villas have great views of the water. The rooms are spacious and clean. The private pool per villa is very clean and quiet.
Food is at best average. Breakfast is exactly the same every day with very limited options. Lunch was better at Carolyn’s than the Palm. Dinner at the Cove was the biggest joke. It is advertised as Michelin star restaurant. Any average restaurant chain has better food than this restaurant. The menu doesn’t change either. Dinner at the Palm was hit and miss but overall nothing exciting. Portions are small and if you request more food, you are ignored or looked at as though you are asking for too much (once again we had all inclusive purchased).
The so called consierge did nothing other than book our dinner and ask if we needed anything for the room. The hotel manager preferred to only talk to UK guests - everyone else was completely ignored. Same was with the Manager of Palm.
We asked about excursions available and the consierge literally asked us to go check a few folders on a desk - we asked for advice and were offered none.
The service at the restaurants is very very slow. Only the team at Carolyn’s seemed to be more alert. Everyone else was in no rush. We decided that it might be a hotel strategy so that people do not get encouraged to order more.
Overall a mediocre stay.
An excellent resort hotel with the most wonderful staff & management.
Room to relax & enjoy the facility’s on offer.
If a problem happens then it is resolved very quickly.
No mosquitoes issues here, with regular fogging & room defenders.
Beautiful resort, but not handicapped accessible. Lots of steps, very few ramps, and difficult to get to beach. Two of the 3 restaurants were not accessible at all due to flights of stairs, and the beach bar was the same.
The property was beautiful and so well maintained. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were there for a week and only left the property one time. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever experienced.
From check in to check out everything was wonderful . The staff are friendly and warm especially Karen our concierge and Wingrove at the pool bar . Romaine was fantastic at the Cove restaurant. Everyone knows your name on day one ! This was our 4th time in Antigua and our first at this resort . We will definitely be back next year and highly recommend to all our family and friends ! Also water sports staff especially Rocky !!!
Great hotel premises and cleanliness as well as friendly staff. The real dissappponrment was the lack of food venues and poor quality of food. There were no selections expected at the hotel of this high rating. We expressed our disappointment with quinine to the staff and only closer to our departure the staff was able to provide some limited options (examples: no fresh juices or fruit, selection limited to bananas only, given the island should have access to much wider selection of fresh lattice and veggies). Overall staff and property were excellent and we truly enjoyed our stay, that said lack of any night entertainment, poor quinine and daily choice of deserts was a bit of a disappointment.
We liked everything about Blue Waters. The accommodation was modern, spacious and clean. The concierge service was very efficient - it was good to have all restaurant bookings and requests dealt with so that there was nothing to think about.
The restaurants could not be faulted with wonderful food and first class service.
We enjoyed both the pools and beaches and it was never difficult to find a sunbed.
All in all, 10 out of 10.
Thanks to the resort our room was upgraded despite the terrible experience with Expedia. All of our expectations were met with the resort, but never book using Expedia. Repeated calls to them were met with speaking to different countries which were difficult to understand, and no cooperation. Never use Expedia.
The Blue Waters is a lovely hotel with very helpful staff. The whole property is beautiful and well taken care of both inside and outside. We had a lovely suite overlooking the water. My husband hit with the tennis pro several times during our stay and really enjoyed the opportunity. They have a variety of water sport options and lots of opportunities to do day trips around the island. Overall, a great experience!
