Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street

This is a very clean and pleasant hotel. I greatly appreciated the fact that the room was cleaned and the towels changed every day. I also appreciated the laundry service. The staff are genuinely friendly, but the language barrier—particularly regarding English—makes communication difficult. The Wi-Fi connection, however, is very poor. As for breakfast, the establishment should offer more American-style dishes, as the hotel's clientele consists of more than just Chinese guests. Furthermore, it would be necessary to vary the offerings or show a bit more creativity; indeed, if you stay for more than a week, you will end up eating exactly the same thing every morning. Finally, the hotel is truly far from the airport: plan for a travel time of approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.

First problem. The hotel is not call "Kaiser Hotel Guangzhou Gangding Metro" It's been renamed "Guangzhou Tianhe James Joyce ELITE Hotel" for many years and why Expedia still advertise in the old name. We arrived and took us nearly an hour to found out the Elite Hotel is where we are staying. Second Problem. We booked for 3 persons to include Breakfast but we only get 2 breakfast voucher per day. Third problem. Everyday we had to ask the front desk to send up an extra set of towels as housekeeping only provide a standard 2 sets of towels in the room even though we were booked as 3 occupants. The traffic outside is ridiculous as it's so busy and jam packed, we had couple of taxis refuse to collect us from the hotel.

The hotel is spotless, and well maintained! Staff are really friendly specially Mr Feng! The laundry room is the bonus! You can wash and dry your clothes for free! Great view for the canton tower from the room and the bed is very comfortable. Highly recommended and I will definitely book it again when I visit Guangzhou in the future.
