Blue Vista Too: Oceanfront Apartment, Central Location

Blue Vista Too is a comfortable Water Island apartment, that is on the ground floor of our island home, Blue Vista. It is centrally located on the island, and is within walking distance (less than 5 minutes) to Honeymoon Beach, the ferry dock, and Limestone Beach. Blue Vista Too is positioned on a hillside in a private wooded acre lot with its own private drive and a nice view overlooking Limestone Bay. It has recently been refurbished. It has a nicely furnished kitchen with newly updated appliances. It has 1 bedroom with a comfortable king size bed, and 1 full bath. It also has a large screen porch, and small den. The owners have sole access to the villa above, which is separate from Blue Vista Too and is never rented.

Blue Vista Too is on the Caribbean side of Water Island which has open exposure to the gentle trade wind breezes from the East. A large 12x24 screen porch with attached balcony deck provides a terrific staging area to enjoy the view, watch the cruise ships arrive & depart, check out the sail boats and the mega yachts, or simply relax and read a book.

If you're not relaxing on the porch, you have probably down at Honeymoon Beach, one of the top beaches in the Virgin Islands! Bring your bathing suits (we'll provide the beach chairs, towels, & snorkeling gear). Check out Dinghy's Beach Bar for adult beverages & meals, or bring along a picnic and your own beverages.

You might also enjoy walking down to Limestone Beach to do some serious shelling. The access trail is adjacent to our property line. In fact Blue Vista Too is so close to Limestone Beach that you will hear the waves lapping on the shore as you go to sleep in your comfy bed.

Water Island is the smallest of the US Virgin Islands, and is located adjacent to the main harbor of St Thomas. When you arrive at the airport, you'll take a 5 minute taxi ride to Crown Bay Marina to take the Water Island Ferry (5-10 minutes). We will meet you when you arrive at the ferry dock to escort you to your stay here. We will also give you a tour of Blue Vista Too and provide you with any info you may need (such as where to stock-up on your favorite food & beverages). Water Island activites you'll want to enjoy are regularly posted on Facebook under What’s going on Water Island.

It's also fun to take advantage of the regular ferry schedule to go shopping & sightseeing on St Thomas. Or for the more adventurous, charter a sailboat for the day, go on a fishing charter, or visit St John or the other Virgin Islands.

Blue Vista Too is a bit of paradise

John and Christine were amazing hosts and we were very pleased with Blue Vista Too. The property was excellent - clean, terrific location and well appointed with everything we needed. The screened in porch was a favourite spot to chill after great days on Honeymoon Beach which was a short walk or golf cart ride away. We appreciated the beach chairs, cooler and snorkel/mask/ water chairs available for our use.Although we ate out at Heidi’s and Dinghy’s for dinners most nights….kitchen was well equipped for our morning coffee, breakfast and lunch/snacks.In addition, John and Christine were terrific hosts, available and responsive in terms of communication. John has a wealth of information about Water Island and very kindly took us on a tour of the island, including the local fort.We had a wonderful time and highly recommend the Blue Vista Too and John/Christine as super hosts if you plan to visit Water IslandThank you John/Christine for a wonderful vacation in your VRBO apartment Kind Regards,Alanna & Mike

Cozy, quiet retreat

John & Christine met us at the ferry from St Thomas and led the way to their house giving us a brief tour on the way. They made us feel welcomed and left us to our desires. On several occasions we saw them (at Honeymoon Beach or at dinner) and we enjoyed our discussions. We were introduced to several of their friends and were made to feel very comfortable. They were excellent hosts and we definitely would look forward to not only returning to Water Island but also renting their place again.

Beautiful and relaxing week on Water Island

We spent a week at Blue Vista 2. It was probably one of the most chill and relaxing vacations we have had so far. The rental was exactly as describe and was nicely equipped. The view was spectacular. John and Christine were amazing hosts.

Beautiful Views

Blue Vista Too. My husband and I stayed for a week in February of 2024. Just like the pictures with a spectacular view overlooking the ocean right from the balcony and screened-in porch. The hosts were magnificent: providing us with a golf cart, swim and snorkel gear, beach gear, cooler and grill. The accomodations were clean and comfortable. Beautiful Honeymoon Beach is just a short ride away in the golf cart. Limestone Beach is down a short, hidden trail near the apartment. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing way to spend the week. Would love to return!

Beautiful solitude!

Blue Vista Too offers a unique respite in paradise from the outside world. Surrounded by tropical trees and plants and looking out over the beautiful bay, you feel like you are alone in paradise. The owners are very nice and give you your privacy and the place was spotless. I cant wait to return!

Water island paradise

John and Christine are amazing. There upstairs but you feel like your in your own home that comes with a golf cart, that's all you need on the island. One of my favorite things to do was having coffee on the porch with an awesome screened in front area as well. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Honeymoon beach is the best, where you snorkel-gear included to go swimming with the sea turtles. John will meet you when you get off the ferry to escort you to your home for your holiday. He'll also give you a tour of the island which is so.......nice. Christine and John have all the items you need. A kerup coffee maker with pods are a nice surprise 😮 . Me and my husband will be returning if possible, we just love it.

One of the best rentals on WI. Hosts are wonderful.

This was our second stay at this VRBO. Our stay was great. Nice apartment with a beautiful view. Screened in porch is like having another room. Snorkeling gear, beach towels and a golf cart are provided. Having a golf cart provided is a big plus..And, your hosts are wonderful people. Would stay there again.

Quiet and Peaceful Getaway!

We came to the USVI for the first time for a relaxing and quiet getaway and this stay didn't disappoint! John was accommodating from the moment we stepped off of the ferry to the moment we left. He even graciously took us on a tour of the island our first day. The low key speed of Water Island is just what we needed and beyond what we expected and we will definitely return!

Winter Birthday Get-A-Way

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Vista in February. We left behind the snow and winter weather in Missouri for the sun and sand of Water Island. The availability of the golf cart was essential in helping us avoid car rental fees. The golf cart was the best way to see Water Island. We enjoyed dining at Tickles in St. Thomas while waiting for the ferry, Dingy's at Honeymoon Beach was delicious and convenient, and Heidi's on the Hilltop was a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. We recommend a visit to the grocery store prior to coming to Water Island since it is just a couple blocks from Tickles. Our ferry captains were on time and helpful. Our hosts, John and Christine, were so welcoming and eager to make our stay memorable. The apartment was comfortable and clean. We had an excellent breeze and the sounds of ocean waves lulled us to sleep each night. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The availability of a washing machine helped us to only have carry on baggage for our trip. The screened porch and balcony overlooking the ocean was a delight. We spent many hours just relaxing and enjoying each others company without distractions. Highly recommend for a quiet and relaxing stay.

An incredible stay

I am a frequent Water Island visitor (13 years, multiple times a year) and this is the first time staying at Blue Vista 2. I'm hooked. Incredibly clean, amazing view, all the amenities of home and the kindness (understatement) of the owners made this a fantastic place to live for a bit. The sound of the breaking waves as I fell asleep were relaxing and calming, and the privacy of the space tucked away behind some beautiful island trees and woods made for a wonderful return each day after many hours on the beach. This is one of the best places to stay on the island, and you won't regret booking this slice of paradise for your trip.

From the reservation and communication before our flight even landed, to the greeting at the dock and the welcome tour of the property, everything was simply perfect. Cannot stress enough the awesome hospitality shown by John and Christine …just down right good people …island is off the beaten path which we loved …take the golf cart for a spin around the island …dinghy’s bar and grill had really good food down by the bay …take the ferry and go explore st Thomas or we even went to St. John’s a couple of times …GREAT STAY! Our stay in paradise!

Anyone renting John’s property would be lucky, indeed! From the initial contact to waving us farewell at the ferry dock, John was the epitome of the perfect host, thoughtful, helpful, friendly, and an all-around nice guy! He met us at the ferry dock on Water Island with the golf cart we’d be using all week. We loved tootling around in it, especially the ease of driving on the left and very few other golf carts on the roads. He gave us a very thorough orientation to the cottage. Everything I’d seen on the listing was even greater on site. It was a huge treat to experience his Island tour one morning. Honestly, my favorite space was on the screened porch. I reveled in napping there on warm afternoons and sleeping there at night listening to the frogs and birds. Our favorite ritual was rising at dawn at six with coffee, sitting on the Adirondack chairs on the deck and watching the beauty of the sunrises. We drove the golf cart to the top of the hill to enjoy the sunsets, as well. The cottage itself was comfortable temp-wise with no a/c but the 6 ceiling fans and the constant breeze kept it cool. Located on the top of a hill overlooking the water, the house was filled with the sound of the ever-present waves breaking below. (We miss them now we’re home!) We loved Honeymoon Beach, one of the prettiest beaches we’ve seen: pure white sand, a gazillion colors of blue in the water, and not crowded early in the day. We explored the coral and fish while snorkeling along the far left side of the bay. This, by far, was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve ever experienced. God-willing, we’ll be able to return one day!
