"Hotel and room were very clean.
Perfect location walking distance into town.
Check in was easy and front desk manager was very nice and courteous.
We will be back!"
"For a property charging roughly $1,500 per night, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had.
The issue started when I found bugs in my room. I called the front desk to ask if they had any mosquito or bug spray available and was told they did not. When I explained that there were bugs in the room, I was then asked where the bug was and whether I could point it out. The interaction felt less like they were trying to help and more like I was being asked to prove that the bug existed. Bugs move, and it’s not always possible to immediately locate one again after you’ve seen it.
Eventually, someone was sent to the room with a spray bottle. However, the bottle appeared to contain some type of cleaning solution rather than an actual insect treatment. It had a strong chemical smell and left the room smelling unpleasant afterward. At no point was I given confidence that the underlying issue was actually being addressed.
That night, I was woken up by a bug in my bed. I reached down because my arm felt itchy and ended up touching the bug, which startled me awake. I barely slept the rest of the night.
What frustrates me most is not even the bug itself. Hotels near the beach can occasionally have insects. The real issue was the response. Instead of taking a guest’s concern seriously and working to resolve it, I felt dismissed from the beginning. The handling of the situation felt unprofessional and, frankly, insulting."
"Hotel was okay - staff was very competent, professional, helpful.
But at least one elevator (of just 3) was out of order. So we ended up using the service elevators… once we found out about them.
Windows opened, but would not stay open, and there were no screens, at least in our room."
"This was our second visit. This unit was very dated, dull and unattractive. The room had a few issues, lightbulbs, a stuck door, the pullout sofa needed bedding. But each was addressed and fixed within minutes. The staff was great. I will say the mattress was like sleeping on a cloud. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed the pool which is heated to 85^"
"Disappointing experience at this Hilton. I stayed at this hotel along with other family members for a family event. Airconditioning was not working anywhere other than hallways (including bedrooms and lobby). I was sharing a room with my 2 daughters. Room was never cleaned, despite housekeeping being in the hallway when we left at 10am. I agreed to have them send an engineer to the room and they also said they would deliver a fan. It was quite disappointing to return to my room at 11pm, after a long day to find a hot, unmade room with no fan. When I mentioned all of this to the manager at checkout, he offered to refund my for one night’s stay, but said I needed to call Expedia (who I booked through) because they couldn’t make the refund directly. Thankfully, Expedia was great at following up and chasing the hotel for the refund as the manager apparently never made note of the refund.
I give the Hilton 2 stars and Expedia 10 stars."
