We did not have a 5 star experience. Some things were great: Location, view and beach access. The house was very clean, had great AC, and beds were comfortable.
Some things were not great: The customer service was lacking. The first 24 hours were rough: 1) The smoke detector went off in the middle of the night- kids crying, could not turn it off, 2) We asked for a key to lock the back door while at the beach (since sharing a porch with strangers it seemed reasonable), and 3) We could not get the "smart TVs" as advertised in the listing to connect to our Netflix act.
We asked multiple times for a phone call to talk through these issues- no call or answer. Just frustrating back and forth on text chains and email. He said 1) smoke detector was "probably the neighbors" didn't address it again 2) they offered a key- after tedious exchanges where he first suggested we use the front door and a different beach access, and 3) they don't have functional smart TVs, they have cable. He told us to "stream through our devices". He stopped responding, which was very disappointing. We felt these were valid issues, guess he did not.
Wish we'd known: No outdoor shower- there's a hose on the porch, limited hot water (share with the whole house?), different couch than pictured- LR seats 4 max, no dish dranier & one kitchen towel, neighbor's cigar smoke travels across the porch.
We've come to HB for 20 years. Can't beat the location, but the stay did not seem to match the reviews.
