The stay was fanatic great with adults retreat areas so could relax and the back view was great for relaxing and kids could enjoy the outdoors.
Very nice place to stay with family and friends.
Great pet friendly property,
Comfortable, Totally a spot to relax and unwind,
Only thing if anything I would mention is the stairs leading up to the parent retreat are very narrow and would be dangerous for children or the elderly,
The only thing missing was electric frying pan, everything else is provided ,
Beautiful big windows opening to the river view ,
Over all a very nice place to stay
or elderly,
The house was lovely and very accommodating for a small dog, a secure backyard is important for us. Note that dogs are not allowed upstairs to the adult retreat - which is fair enough with new carpet, new bathroom. We just stayed in the downstairs queen room.
Our stay at the River Retreat was absolutely wonderful. It was very comfortable and well appointed. The backyard was blissful as it backs onto a lake and very peaceful waking up to such a pretty view each morning. The location is excellent and only minutes walking distance to the centre of Sussex local
Shopping precinct. Will definitely hope to stay here again. Thank you Jerry and Libby for your warm hospitality.
Just as the listing describes, a great river retreat which was fun for the whole family.
The kids spent the weekend using the stand up paddle board on the river, as well as fishing and a bit of swimming.
The house is set up really well.
We also discovered lovely kid friendly beach areas within a ten minute drive.
We’ll be back!
Myself and 3 friends booked to stay at the River Retreat for 2 nights. The house was beautiful and looks like it has been recently renovated. Wonderful location with a nice outdoor area backing onto the inlet. The Adults retreat upstairs is absolutely stunning. Communication with the owner of the house was a breeze and they couldn’t have been more helpful! I would highly recommend staying at the River Retreat.
We had a wonderful week at this lovely property. The house was impeccably clean, well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and perfectly situated right on the river with stunning views of the opposite bush.We thoroughly enjoyed kayaking and fishing from the dock. The property manager was very responsive and polite. We encountered a minor issue during our stay, and they promptly offered to resolve it immediately. We appreciated their quick response, although we were checking out the next day.Our dogs absolutely loved the water, but the lack of a proper gate made it extremely difficult to keep them out of the river. This was particularly challenging when a pelican swam by, as they became quite excited and eager to chase it.Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend this property.
Incredible river frontage with views from bedrooms and living areas, spacious, modern and stylishly furnished accommodation with all the modern conveniences. Brilliant upstairs retreat with lounging area taking in the wonderful river views. Loved the deck area with umbrella and barbecue. Undercover parking. Absolutely enjoyed our stay and our hosts were helpful with friendly and good communication. Was a great base to explore nearby towns, as the region has so much to see and do. Absolutely wonderful weekend. Would definitely recommend.
Property wasn’t very clean and was the first thing we noticed. Basic utensils were also missing for cooking. Communication was extremely poor and took at least 24-48 hours for replies. No basic niceties like milk and coffee on arrival to make a cuppa. During our stay we were about to head out the back to enjoy the sunny afternoon when a lawn mower man showed up and proceeded to wipper snip, mow then blower vac! Also literally ZERO pamphlets for restaurants/venues/outings. A few out of date maps left on the sticky coffee table. This place has loads of potential but no love has been poured in for a while is obvious from the moment you walk in
The property had everything we needed for a great stay. Was a beautiful spot on the river and would be a great base to explore the area. We stayed in the downstairs main bedroom which was great. I was glad we didn't choose to stay in the upstairs room as I wouldn't be confident in using the stairs.
My friends and I had an amazing time at this place. We were home most of the time and cooked often. I was wonderfully surprised that the kitchen was fully renovated and looked totally different from the photos, so we really enjoyed cooking from their 5 burner stovetop. The house is waterfront (riverview) so we were able to go fishing from their backyard. The location is close to everything: marina centre, supermarket, beaches. The only thing I would ask to be improved is to add electric fan in every bedroom as I imagine it can get hot during during summer.
Overall, I would rate the place as 4.7 stars.
The house had everything we needed and is well set up.

Very excited holiday
We had a good time of our holiday, although there was some cleaning issues at the beginning, Jerry was very approachable and helpful. Kids enjoyed so much, especially they caught so many little fishes just on the side of jetty, and they fed ducks and pelican, we also caught a jellyfish, very good experience for kids to see so many wild water animals. The only thing is not convenient is it only has one bathroom, during the night we have to walk down to the toilet.

Fishing shack
Great spot to come with a couple of mates, who only want to fish.
Good rough and ready sort of place but bring your own toilet paper.
Linen was supplied but you have to make your own bed.
Lovely getaway, property is great. Fishing and kayaking from the backyard! The house had everything you need even a gas heater in the lounge and heaters in the rooms. We did ask for linen to be provided which we were told would be charged at a fee per bed which we were happy to pay. However apon arrival we found that there were no sheets on the beds and no towels only blankets provided, luckily we had one of our guests arrive a day after we did so we were able to organise them to bring linen. We did find Sussex inlet itself to be a bit too quiet for us, not many choices when it comes to food or wandering around outside of the house however you can drive 25-30 minutes to Jervis bay and surrounds.
If you are after a quiet get away and have a kayak or paddle board or little boat this place is definately for you!
This property is lovely with a great location and everything you need. The deck with water views and the dog safe back yard are fantastic, our little dog loved it! We fished every day and will definitely be back in summer for some canoeing. Shops are within 15min walking distance. Overall our group of six loved the place. Thank you!

Great break at Sussex
Enjoyed the stay immensly. House was clean and comfortable, being able to tie the boat up at the jetty at the back really made it. Enjoyed the daily parade of the swans, and the visits from the ducks. The only negative was the slight drip from the kitchen tap into the sink. Definitely five stars.
