The Lookout - panoramic views; log fire; ONE-dog-friendly, local beaches.

  • 'The Lookout', as the name suggests, is a small, two bedroomed stone-built cottage commanding spectacular views in all directions. It is attached to the main house but has its own entrance and is totally private. Downstairs is a sitting-room with open-feature fireplace with a raised galley kitchen. Upstairs, it sleeps 2/3 with a shared bathroom. Outside is a secure, dog-friendly, enclosed walled garden with terrace.
    This property is not suitable for those with disability issues as there are steps down to reach the property and a couple of steps up to the galley kitchen. There is also a winding staircase up to the bedrooms with a single bannister on one side.
    It is vital to have a car as most key places to visit and shops require a car journey of some sort.

My 11 year old daughter and I had a lovely stay at The Lookout. Photos don’t do it justice! Everything was very clean, the beds were comfy and everything you could possibly need for your trip was somewhere to be found in the cottage. Michael’s communication was great, getting in was easy and the views over to Corfe Castle were spectacular.

Outstanding postion with views to Corfe Castle and the Coast with many footpaths in the surrounding area. Hosts were very helpful without being intrusive. Perfect for two people seeking seclusion!

Wonderful place to stay. Immaculate and well equipped, milk, biscuits tea and coffee all provided. Cute little patio and garden area. Easy access to walk and stunning scenery. Hosts were very welcoming and very helpful.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful property, so we'll appointed and many thoughtful touches. We loved the footpaths literally on the doorstep and enjoyed a variety of walks, cliff top, heathland, fields and woodland. There were spectacular views in every direction and even the sea mist has some appeal. We ventured to the Etches Collection at Kimmeridge which is a fascinating fossil collection. There are many things to do and we hope to return to do some more.

Lovely little cottage in the country side with plenty of footpaths and walks right on your doorstep. Lots of wildlife in the area. A wonderful garden to spend the evenings in watching House Sparrow, Goldfinch, Bullfinch and one evening a Hummingbird Hawk-moth, and a night you could even hear distant calls of Nightjar in the valley.Arriving at the start of the latest heatwave even though it was 35 deg the house was still cool considering.The host was around if we needed (we didn't, as everything you needed was already there).

Excellent little property, ideal for solo traveller/couple or small family. Beautiful location with stunning views in all directions, especially down the valley to Corfe.Everything I needed was there and communication was very good throughout.

A unique little place

The Lookout makes a lovely base for a holiday in Purbeck. The fantastic views make up for the lack of space in the bedrooms and kitchen area. All we needed for a comfortable stay for two.
