As advertised, but stay on your toes
Our apartment was as advertised, was in great walking distance to Bondi, and clean.However, we did spend a bit of our trip worrying about 'breaking the rules' for this apartment. Our first message received from the host was extremely abrupt and immediately a wall of text with all the rules in capital letters, particularly warning us about all the ways they would charge us more if we did not follow the rules (i.e. having guests over, putting the lockbox back correctly, forgetting to water THEIR plants, checking out even one minute late, etc). Please note that these rules were already in the listing, so I had already seen them, and this list could have been sent later on - in comparison, my first message from a later accommodation was a lovely welcome greeting, asking nicely what we were looking forward to about our trip and if she could help us with anything - then rules provided later on.These warnings about charging us extra for a lot of things made us a little nervous to complain about anything, for example, the incredibly strong toilet cleaner smell that lingered for at least 24 hours after the apartment was cleaned, and then the sewagey smell that only went away when you closed the bathroom door.There is also ZERO parking. This is not mentioned in the description, as they do not provide it, but they should definitely mention that the only options are moving your car every two hours (if you can find parking in the first place) or parking in Wilson's for 140 a day.
