Very well equipped cabin. Clean and tastefully decorated. Both the bed and sofa were comfortable. We rented two other cabins in this trip and while this was the most expensive, it was totally worth and was the nicest of the three .

The cabin is beautiful! The kitchen was wonderful for a small cabin and the sauna was amazing! It was an easy walk into town as well. The hosts and property manager communicated really well and called to follow up about the reservation as soon as I made it, as well as the day of check in. Thank you for a great stay!

Hale Kolea is One of our favorite places to stay

When we walk into this cabin, it's like coming home. This was our second time there and we were at home. People in the area are really friendly and just nice. The cabin is clean, it has everything you need and I love that they have a gas stove. It's so quiet and as writers, it gives us time to get away from a large city and write, read a book or just sleep!!

A great cabin, close to town. It is new, clean and well equipped with all the essentials. The cabin is well decorated and inviting. Would definitely recommend!

Terrific Cabin!

Very charming and spacious cabin within easy walking distance of historic Talkeetna and its shops, restaurants, etc. The cabin is very well stocked and has some very nice amenities including a sauna and large shower. Great value.

Beautiful Cabin.

Absolutely beautiful cabin. Super clean and decorated with interesting pieces. My husband and I both wished we had more time to relax at and enjoy the cabin.

Vacation Getaway

This property is everything it says and more. Perfectly decorated and generously stocked for cooking. Located in a quiet neighborhood it was easy to get to town. The sauna was a big plus for us since we were there in winter. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay.

Great little cabin to stay in for two people! The bed, pillows, couch, chair are all very comfortable!! The shower was nice too! Sadly the sauna was not working during our trip, but overall it was a great place to stay!

Nice one bedroom cabin

What a wonderful place to stay in Talkeetna, Alaska. Walking distance to town. Nice, quiet setting. Very comfortable bed and every amenity you could ask for in an ABNB. Coffee maker, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, and a washer and dryer. It also has a sauna (which we didn’t use). We would definitely stay here again.

Comfort and efficiency

The cabin was gorgeous with a very thoughtful layout and luxurious amenities. It was in a cute neighborhood walking distance to the village. Our stay was short but we got in a beautiful cross country ski, enjoyed clear views of Denali, and relaxed.

This was the second anniversary my wife and I have spent at the cabin, at 8 years and again now at 15. Even though it had been 7 years, the place was more comfy and cozy than the first time. The hosts have thought of everything and run a smooth operation . We will be back!!

Just perfect in Talkeetna

We wanted to be close to town but far enough away.. we could have walked!!! The home is perfectly cleaned, nicely designed Hawaiian/Aloha spirit😁 Everything is well thought out - well stocked kitchen, easy on heat.. super sauna. We had great flights/etc to see Denali, relaxed at the house and went downtown easily.

Amazing hideaway

What a diamond in the rough!!! An unassuming cabin by the outside. Open the door and enter paradise!! Who needs to fly to Hawaii to get an island experience. This cabin far exceeded our expectations and literally made our weekend. From ease of check in to cleanliness, everything was so perfect. For being a studio cabin, the layout was amazing. The best part was the Finnish Sauna that was connected to the latrine area. The kitchen was amazing for cooking and just enjoying.100% will be back again!!

Talkeetna Get Away..

The “little cabin in the woods” was perfect. Quiet, trees all around and private. Inside the decorating, amenities, cleanliness and bed were all terrific. Loved how the owner has painstakingly organized the home. The Hawaiian theme and art very well done. Very comfortable in every way and a pleasurable stay. Mahalo !

Tropical getaway in Alaska

We loved our stay at Hale Kolea! The cabin was perfect for the two of us. Very clean, nicely decorated and had all the supplies/amenities we needed. The bed and pillows were sooooo comfortable and they had extra blankets on hand too! We really appreciated the washer and dryer! The sauna was a nice bonus and our welcome gift was a special treat as well. The location is easily walkable to downtown Talkeetna and make sure to have breakfast at the Swiss Alaska Inn!

Cozy nest of a base camp!

Clean and cozy cabin from which to stage our adventures up and down the highway~ Great bed, plentiful pillows, soft sheets. Kitchen was well equipped and full sized appliances well maintained. Bath was functional and lovely~ needed the extra heater, thanks! Lights, fan, and laundry all thoughtfully placed and in perfect order. Warm and welcoming, this cabin delivered beyond the ad. Thanks!

Beautiful quiet log cabin close to everything

We loved this beautifully decorated log cabin. It had a very well thought out layout for two people staying. The bed was very comfortable. The shades worked well for long day light hours. The kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed the sauna. We did not have a car and the owners were able to recommend 'taxi' drivers to us. It was an easy walk for us to the downtown for food, to the boat launch for Mahay's jet boat rides and to K2 for flightseeing of Denali. Talkeetna is a cute little town and we wished we staying longer than 3 days. A special thanks to the owners and local contact who were very responsive to our questions. We would definitely stay here again.

A wonderful property

This was our first trip to Alaska and my husband and I had no idea what to expect or even look for. So I have to admit that I was attracted to the Hale Kolea because of the name - we've been to Hawaii a few times and loved it. We only stayed a few nights and we were in and out quite a bit so we did not take advantage of the steam room (although it looked fabulous and instructions on use were well posted and very clear) or the nicely equipped kitchen aside from the coffee maker (thank you for the Hawaiian blend coffee!). But the cottage is so comfortable. The bed was fantastic and I just loved all of the artwork and the corresponding description of each in the binder on the dining table. There's a bulletin board with local business cards and maps, a basket of magazines/maps and that sort of thing, games and books. We were there in August, so it didn't get fully dark until after 10, and the sun did wake us up in the morning when it streamed through the windows - we forgot our eye masks! But this was not an issue since we needed to get up anyway. I do recommend that you bring some. The cottage is within walking distance to downtown, but we drove since we were on to other things before/after. The neighborhood was surprisingly quiet given that there are other cabins/cottages next door and across the street. We plan on coming back as soon as we can and staying a few days longer so we can fully enjoy all that this lovely home offers.

Lovely, quite location with all of the supplies one could need for a relaxing vacation. From the luxury kitchen to the perfectly placed night lights, sauna, and soft towels, each area had a vacation away feeling. The earth-friendly cleaning and soaps were an additional bonus.
