"Although the hotel building and its facilities are a little bit old, the room is very clean and hotel staff are very friendly. It takes about 15 minutes’ walk from New Shirakawa (Shin Shirakawa) Train Station, or you can catch a taxi at about 1000 Yen. There are several restaurants located within five minutes’ walking distance, however, it is relatively far from downtown Shirakawa and Komine Castle."

"The accommodation was pleasant. The staff were very helpful and the onsen was wonderful. The little extras made the stay even better, gift in the fridge, fresh water each day, free ice cream and yakult when using the onsen, the manga library and storing our bags post stay before we caught our train. Only thing to improve was the dark curtains that are dated to help brighten the place."

"Easy to park. Clean room. Looks small from outside but it’s actually spacious in the inside. The best part is the affordable price. Hotel R9 is the best!"

"The hotel is a short walk from the train/bus station. The hotel inside is okay. I think the elevator compartment needs to be painted a lighter color than black though because it is hard to discern the size and how many people with luggage can fit. The room was adequate for one night. It’s too compact for more than one night though for 2 persons. The bathroom is similar to all Japanese accommodations so far — compact with a high step tub. Not any space to put your stuff so be mindful of keeping the water inside the tub. If need a place for the night, would go for it. "
