Every thing about this hotel is Sub Par.. Everything…. As soon as we checked in we knew it was going to be a challenge, but we did give it a honest try. We wound leaving immediately from the All-Inclusive dinner and heading into town for a palatable meal. We were greeted by a wild raccoon as we were leaving the “dining room” We knew it was time to leave. We asked to speak to a manager on several occasions to end our trip immediately and forgo any additional days at this hotel. No manager or anyone from Expedia ever contacted us as they both committed they would. Very disappointing all around. Would never stay in an Occidental hotel again. Dirty, unsafe, broken locks air conditioner that didn’t work. ETC,,,,, Sub Par.

The property is all inclusive and reasonable priced they bring said the beach isn't swimmable and surfing was not something we chose to do as the water was very rough. That being said, the beach is walkable and you can do all those things there. The food was not the best but we were able to find things to eat

This place was amazing!! So beautiful and a little bit of everything. Large pool. Amazing waves for surfing. Japanese and Italian restaurants (additional charges). Endless drinks, food including snacks, music, and fun. Grounds were well maintained, and the staff was very friendly.

Great location but can’t swim at the beach. It’s too rocky. The staff is great but the service can improve. We didn’t have bathroom tissue, towels and their department closed early every day. The food was ok just not a big variety which got boring fast. It’s at a great location near everything close to town.

The facilities were nice and kept clean. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The only downfall is the food. Yes its a buffet, the food is a 6 out of 10. It didnt have a lot of flavor and they served a lot of the same things for all three meals amd everyday. After about three days you are totally burned out. I was only able to eat at the Italian resturant once. It was a very good experience. The food there is gaood. Overall i would stay there again but only for a few days.

We had a fantastic vacation with our family. The rooms are clean and the property is well kept. The beach is beautiful, but the water was rough. If you want to enjoy a calmer water you can walk or uber to the town beach it’s beautiful and close to the resort. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoy that they had juice stations in the lobby and at the snack bar, so if you were thirsty you could help yourself anytime. The food was delicious and had a great variety for everybody. At breakfast I absolutely enjoyed the smoothie station- all from fresh fruits. The only thing I would preferred to have air conditioning in the buffet. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we would return to this resort. Lovely vacation.

We had a fabulous birthday week at Occidental Tamarindo!! This was my 2nd time staying here. Lots of fun for all. Our favorites were bartender Alan & server Karen!! They put the special touches on great service to keep the party going. And my spa treatment was to die for….AMAZING!! Thank you to the entire staff for making my birthday special for myself & my guests. We will be back soon!!! Pura Vida!!!

Great for a chill time. The basic rooms are just that…so if you are just looking for a clean comfortable place to sleep because you want to lay out by the pool/beach and not think about food, this is a perfect place. If you are super bougie, you may be disappointed if you book their standard room. The spa and staff there are fabulous and do a great job.

A great family atmosphere at the resort. The location of the resort is right on Langosta beach with gorgeous sunsets and crashing waves. The food is average. The drinks are average and served in paper cups so bring an insulated cup with you. The resort is very clean and the staff are very polite and hard working. The grounds are safe and the gardens are lovely. I would gladly stay at this resort again.

Overall I thought it was great, the location was about a mile and a half to Tamarindo, but that’s okay I like walking. The food was good too, I wish they had more variety during dinner at the grill though. It was mostly pork chops every time I went. They had steak and chicken two days, I was there for 7 days. Overall it was a great experience and I’d definitely go back.
