The properly was maintained very well and room service was excellent. The buffet breakfast was spacious with lots of various breads, yogurt, freshly cooked omelets to order, pancakes, waffles, pastries, and local hot traditional food. Rooms were a bit small and were not sound proof, but overall nicely decorated with a small fridge and safe. The resort has rooms on the beach and across the street next to a large pool. Nice pools on either side of the property. They even have staff stopping traffic to help guest cross the street. Only a few minutes from town, restaurants nearby and shopping. Overall excellent place to stay.

etwas in die jahre gekommen anlage mit charm. das personal ist leider nicht das aufmerksamste. in ganz costa rica haben wir das auf so einem niedrigen level nicht erlebt. daher eher enttäuschend. zimmer sind zweckmäßig, matratzen eher weich. an den decken sind schimmel spuren die sich noch relativ leicht abwischen lassen. wir hatten 3 zimmer mit Meerblick (206,7 und 8) alle sind davon betroffen. für die preisklasse absolut nicht in ordnung. dem personal war es egal. das hauptrestaurant bietet wenig auswahl, der service war sehr desinteressiert an uns, daher haben wir das abendessen abgebrochen. zum glück denn wie wir feststellen durften gibt es jede menge tolle restaurants und bars in town 😎

The property is a beautiful location but a little misleading says on the beach but really your rooms are across the street from the beach. The staff wasn’t welcome instead felt unwanted. Wasn’t greeted upon arrival felt more like I was out of place looked at awkwardly. The front desk wasn’t friendly either looked at me like why am I here. The scene on beach was beautiful. Breakfast was great but other then that no other real restaurants on site they call the pizzeria next door an on site restaurant. The pool across the street is beautiful but closes at 9pm on a Friday and Saturday night on Labor Day weekend was hoping at least 10/10:30pm. The rooms are decent until we checked beds they were filthy behind and underneath so much dust dead bugs so they don’t maintenance clean. The bathroom was so bad! They have a small window in show with no fan in bathroom so gets so steamy n hot and musky literally water/ sweat coming down each wall and mildew smell after taking first shower, never seen a bathroom so bad with no ventilation. Would I go back there honestly probably not as would prefer to try and different beach/ hotel in CR. Only plus side of this property was breakfast and security is great .

It was clean, had several restaurants to choose from, friendly staff. This was an excellent choice. Oh the Breakfast was sooo goood. The drinks at the swim up bar.

We had a nice time at the property. For the most part it was a very nice experience. The only drawbacks were there was no wifi/internet for the three days we were there. The front desk staff informed us it was out and they were working on it but it never came back. These things happen however, if you market wifi/internet as one of the reasons to book at this hotel and you can't provide it, the rate should be adjusted to compensate and that was never offered. the only other issues were the at the adult pool was not staffed at all at any time of the day or night, the jacuzzi is not heated so unusable, and the room could be cleaner. those are the negatives but the property is actually quite nice. The service was excellent and the breakfast buffet was really excellent! the sunsets from this hotel were incredible.

Amazing breakfast! Difficult to leave the beach area once you settle into a comfy chair with an Imperial or Pina Colada. Be sure to spend time at the pool area across the road for more drinks and Howler monkeys.

Diria wonderfully combines being at the centre of Tamarindo with secluded spaces to relax in the gardens or by the pool. We enjoyed the location and great service.

Overall, we had a good experience and really want to give this property 5/5 stars but can’t ignore some of the negative incidents causing us to only give it 4/5 stars! Staff is mostly friendly/helpful. Pros: The location is right on the beach. The beach and sand are lovely and the sunsets are even better! The breakfast was fresh and delicious with open air seating by the beach. Cons:00 Front desk staff during our check-in needs to be retrained in customer service due to how he handled our situation . He misled us to think that our rooms were in a better location only to find out that the entrance to our rooms faced the street and it was very noisy and loud from all of the honking/truck engines. We had to go back to the lobby to request different rooms and they weren’t next to one another (the hotel does not have connecting rooms in the main bldg). Sergio was very condescending and just didn’t seem empathetiabout changing rooms- even seemed Reluctant to do so but eventually did after pressing the issue. As far as cleanliness, one of our rooms had dirty sheets in the bed and the bathroom smelled terrible due to poor air circulation. Lastly, construction took place right next to our room and they left lights on, dirty floors, and open doors all night. On our last day, during the peaceful breakfast area, someone decided to perform cement grinding making a very loud noise for about 20-30 minutes! This could have waited until after the busy breakfast service ends.

I liked that it was beside the beach and an op close to nearby shops and great food options off of hotel property. It was a quiet and relaxing hotel. Howler monkeys and lots of iguanaswere hanging out on the property.

The gym Smith Bar weight machine needed to be fixed. We told the concierge that the left side holding the weights needed to be fixed. Five days later nothing happened. These are new machines. Someone should have looked into this. The night-time concierge was sitting watching his phone in the back corner. When we approached him to ask something, he said, "come here", as opposed to greeting us and moving in our direction. This was quite strange and very different from any concierge I have ever met. On two occasions, the sushi chef with the black elongeted hat, next to El Pelicano was listening/watching music or videos with sound that obstructed the good restaurant choice of music. Is this in need of better management. This needs attention. The parking lot takes more cars in the back. In the back, there should be a second stair entrance with cameras and bracelet entrance. Make it nice. The hotel bracelets should not have size adjustment. The keep coming off. A lot of potential for losing them. Instead, they should be different sizes for different wrists. I write this because this hotel has a lot of potential. It looks great and it's in a great area. Most of the employees are very polite and helpful and I would like to go again.

Great location with friendly service. Fresh fruit varieties and breakfast buffet choices overall exceeded expectations. Seeing iguanas, crested birds and red squirrels in nature was awesome. Location was within Walking distance to everything. Sunsets were breathtaking and beach was great with soft sand. A few things could have been better: toiletries were not good quality and no conditioner or body lotion, no water station to refill water bottles, and beds were uncomfortable.

I felt that the restaurant appeared fed-up and over-worked. Our family 25 mins to get a breakfast table. The staff should take guest to the table rather than guest scrambling every morning at breakfast. It’s a good hotel otherwise.

The resort is in a great location right on the beach and the pools were definitely a highlight. The rooms were basic kinda small, nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, our overall experience was affected by how we were treated by some of the staff. As Latino guests, we couldn’t help but notice that white American and European visitors were often prioritized. At the main restaurant, two young waitresses repeatedly ignored us and seemed visibly annoyed whenever we asked for anything. It left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. The food was also a letdown, bland and lacking any real flavor. But considering who the resort caters to, it sadly makes sense. The town itself feels heavily colonized. Much of the Costa Rican culture, cuisine, and character has been stripped away and replaced with something more generic and geared toward a foreign unflavored palate. It feels like the uniqueness of the place was taken and turned into a bland, mass market vacation spot. That said, we did find incredible food and hospitality in local sodas (small, family run restaurants). They served authentic, flavorful dishes that were a true highlight of our trip. The resort has so much potential thanks to its location and natural beauty, we just hope it works on improving its service and reconnecting with the culture that makes Costa Rica so special, but highly doubt it.

We loved the view from our room, right in front of the ocean. The first day we arrived it was at sunset time and it was the most beautiful sunset I've seen in a while. The only downside that I didn't know when I made the reservation is that the hotel is divided in two sides by the main road, so we could hear the cars and people walking on the sidewalk all night. And I guest it didn't help that the next morning we could hear the cleaning ladies talking loud in the hallway from 7am and then one of them came knocking really hard at the door to ask if we wanted the room clean. We forgot to hang the 'Do not disturb' sign on the door. The other thing that I didn't like much is that their beach is not private so when you step down to the beach there are a lot of vendors trying to sell you something. They do have guards at the entrance to stop anyone that is not a guess from entering the hotel. When we checked out the other side of the hotel the next day, it was so much more beautiful, private and quieter. I guest we had to sacrifice the view for the quietness. The food was really good, the breakfast buffet was plenty and tasty especially the omelet. They have like 6-7 restaurants, we only got to try two restaurants, they were good. Overall was good but if I stayed there again, I'll stay in the quiet side.
