It was a very nice place to stay. Our Band, Cowboy Sweetheart, played at this venue also, so it was very handy to stay there as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are in desperate need of freshening up. Our curtains were held on to rail by plastic bags and the rug/upholstery were extremely stained. I know the property is old and full of history but they should definitely pay attention to some important details. It was dingy and not very welcoming.

The room was quite adequate. The shower was a walk in that I think was set up for handicapped access which I like even though I’m not handicapped. Bed was fine and air conditioning/heating worked well. It was a corner room next to a stairwell and we heard some noise at odd hours but overall the room was fine.

The problem we had was with our room key. For the 3 days we were there, it wouldn’t work and we would have to go to the front desk to get it reset (4 times). It was an inconvenience to have to do this every time we came back to our room. The other thing, was the water never went pass lukewarm. water. For the most part and considering the price it was pretty good.

The room and pool were so spacious and nice and such a good place to sit and relax! But the most disappointing part was the restaurant Grille. They were incredibly understaffed due to a wedding, and management failed these poor people as they scrambled to still stay open with basically no servers/chefs. “Dinner” was a disaster with insane wait times, missing food/drinks and stressed staff. Very bummer ending to our night and we felt horrible for the servers trying to do the right thing with no support. Please properly support your employees, or close down for the night if you’re unable to because it’s really not fair to them or your paying customers.

The size of the room was perfect for the 5 of us. However, we could not get one of the tvs to work and the faucet in one of the bathrooms came off. We asked several times for someone to come up and fix them, but no one ever came. I will say that when we checked out and mentioned all of this, the woman at the desk gave us coupons for 5 complimentary breakfasts at the Sagebrush in. The breakfast was excellent.

There's a big difference between old, charming, and rustic and old, authentic and run-down. We stayed at the Sagebrush 50 years ago and it was in need of a facelift back then. We had heard that it was updated refreshed, but in the original building that is not the case. I'll go elsewhere next time I'm in Taos.

It was a great place for us and our 2 pups! The courtyard room makes it easy access for the dogs. Love the NM decor and feeling of the place. Feels a bit old but very clean, charming and the bed was comfy!
