Nice staff, excellent Sunday lunch that I couldn't eat because the plate was stacked. Warm and comfy bed, couldn't fill kettle in the small sink. Shower was feeble. I didn't pay for the ritz, it was great for what I wanted.
We liked our room which was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very helpful.
There was a little noise on Friday evening, but then you would expect that at a pub.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
In the first room it wasn't possible to close the window. We was given another room without main light. Breakfast was very good.
Staff were polite and welcoming, The room was very small with toilet in one corner and shower in another the shaving light did not work and could not be repaired as it was out of date. No breakfast or evening food available despite it being adverisised on their website. The whole ptemises could do with a renivation.
Second time staying here first time we enjoyed very much same time of year for shopping in chester..Nice welcome. but the room was cold bad draft through the windows. We were freezing ..toilet was very noisy that was situated by the bed. Tv didn't work ..did ask for someone to come and take a look .but said nothing could be done as window are old said tv was due to cold weather ..we came home a day earlier than planned. But did get a free drink in bar for inconvenience..wont be staying again

Charming hotel and pub in the middle of an attractive English village.
When we got there it turned out it was wrong hotel in grassington it was for the same hotel but in Cheshire. Same photo on advert just different area , staff there said it happens a lot. Very disappointed that this happens on a daily basis. This also happend to two of our friends who stayed here on same day and they ended up paying extra 100.00 for another room . We ended up going home wasn't paying any more than we already did for one night. Highly disappointing that this happens regularly and nothing gets done about it.
Lovely friendly place to stay . Room was small but clean.tea and coffee facilities were available in the room. And not noisy with the bar below..staff were lovely and friendly and we were made very welcome.
Definitely will stay again
Lovely little place to stay, had everything we needed. Could hear music from downstairs but wasnt to bad and not late. Lovely friendly staff. Would definitely stay again
The Foresters Arms is a cosy little room above village pub. Room has everything you need including a mini fridge for fresh milk. Traditional pub food served by friendly staff. Worth noting that they stop serving food in the evening at 7:30 prompt, but the host will knock something up for residents. That being said there are plenty of other eateries within walking distance.
Very noisy until 1am, room over the bar and beer garden. Sounded like a dish washer came on at 5am. Smell of cooking from the kitchen. Bathroom so small when you bent to wash your face you had to have the door open.
Upon arrival i was shown to my room by the barman, i asked him when they stopped serving food and he said he wasnt sure. I told him i would ne down about 7pm.
I got down to the bar at 7.15pm, ordered a pint, looked at the menu and asked to order food, only to be told the Chef had gone home. The Barman knew i was coming down but apparently said nothing to the Chef, ended up going to the indians next door which wouldn't have been my first port of call.
I wont be returning.
The whole experience was appalling. I arrived to drunks in the bar and unable to check in as it was so busy. The rooms was broken down and dirty. There was a smell all night from the fat fryer in the kitchen. There were screaming kids down the corridors until late at night. There was loud music under the room until late. There were drunks that could be heard under the room. The toilet was broken. The bathroom unit had a door hanging off. The television was pixilating all night so did not work properly. The kettle was filthy. The curtains were filthy. I was charged £75 for an absolute slum. That was for a single!!!!!!! Absolutely disgusting.
