Casa Rio is a stylish, brand-new 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom home in the upscale Surfside neighborhood of Potrero - just a short 10-minute walk from the beach.



The Space:

Designed with comfort, elegance, and privacy in mind, this modern villa features a spacious layout with a main house and a separate casita, ideal for families or groups looking for both connection and personal space.

Centered around a sparkling private pool, the home’s layout creates a breezy indoor-outdoor flow with beautiful views of the pool from multiple places in the home. Lush tropical landscaping surrounds the patio, where you’ll find a covered outdoor kitchen, BBQ grill, shaded dining area for six, and a small fitness nook with a stationary bike and space for yoga or stretching. The garden view from every angle makes this an idyllic space to relax and reconnect.

Inside the main house, you’ll find a sleek, fully equipped kitchen with top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, including an electric stove, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. A gorgeous ocean-blue granite island adds a bold pop of color, while white cabinets and counters give a fresh, contemporary feel. The indoor dining table, made from a native tree, seats six, and the island provides space for four more guests.

Casa Rio includes four beautifully furnished bedrooms: with two plush king-sized beds and two queen beds in the main house, perfect for larger groups, families, or multiple couples. Each bedroom has air conditioning and its own TV. The home has three full bathrooms with walk-in showers, one with a soaking tub, and a convenient half-bath by the pool. There is also an apartment that includes a king-sized bed, a queen-sized bed, and twin bunk beds. There are no doors between the king-sized bed and the bunk bedroom. With five TVs total and strong Wi-Fi throughout, there’s plenty of space to unwind.

This single-level home is fully air-conditioned and thoughtfully designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wide doorways, step-free access, and a wheelchair-friendly layout.

The Neighborhood:

Playa Potrero

Offering easy access to three beaches (Potrero, Penca and Prieta), this town combines upscale lodging options with the charm of a traditional Costa Rican town (think central plaza with church, school and soccer field).

There are plenty of restaurants, shops and other conveniences, and the downtown area has two mini supers (convenience stores), as well as a commercial plaza with a coffee shop, a hairdresser and other businesses.

Some of the liveliest nightlife in the region can be found at Las Brisas Bar, right on the beach, though it’s normally hopping only on Wednesdays (Ladies’ Night).

Potrero has several nice housing developments with “Villagio” in the name, popular among Italians and other expats. You can find Italian gelato shops, Costa Rican sodas (small, affordable restaurants) and hotels in a range of prices (Pitaya Lodge, Bahía La Esmeralda, Hotel Isolina, Bahía del Sol).

Just to the south of Potrero lie all the attractions of Surfside, and to the north is a beautiful, hilly drive along the ocean, ending at the Mediterranean-style village of Las Catalinas. Potrero is within easy striking distance of several beaches, and it’s a great base to explore the entire region — for a sampler of both the high-end and the humble.

As part of the verification, you will need to choose between paying a refundable security deposit (which includes a non-refundable 2% processing fee) or purchasing a non-refundable damage waiver, which protects you in case of accidental damage during your stay. We strongly recommend the damage waiver, as it provides peace of mind and avoids tying up funds with a deposit.
