"
I recently stayed at Carlota in Quito, and it was one of those rare experiences where everything simply feels right. The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful—thoughtfully designed, intimate, and full of character—but what truly sets it apart is the people who run it.
From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely cared for. They’re warm, attentive, and incredibly empathetic in a way that never feels forced. I get felt like family. Whether it was helping with last‑minute logistics, offering thoughtful recommendations, or simply checking in to make sure I was comfortable, they consistently went above and beyond. It’s the kind of hospitality that stays with you.
The restaurant deserves its own praise. Every meal was fantastic—fresh, creative, and beautifully prepared. It quickly became one of my favorite places to eat in the city, not just because of the food but because of the atmosphere the team creates.
Carlota is the kind of hotel that elevates your entire experience of Quito. I’m leaving with wonderful memories and a lot of gratitude. I would return in a heartbeat."
"Everything was top notch. The staff extremely well trained, super friendly. The amenities were first class. The restaurants were excellent and great value. "
"I can't say enough about this hotel. It was top notch from A to Z: accommodations, property, staff, amenities, food (I only had the breakfasts), location, and services. It was one of the best hotels I've stayed at anywhere."
"Great location-just 1 block north of Plaza Grande (as hotels.com says but contrary to what Google maps say as of today: and you'll need to tell cabs/ubers/...). My room was quite quiet despite of being right downtown. The people running the hotel are very friendly and helpful. I'd certainly stay at Casa Colonial again."
"Great service from the minute I arrived. Desk agent met my taxi and helped me. Terrific breakfast w more excellent service. Concierge service helped me locate a phone repair and side trips. Very pleased. "
