This is a gorgeous property, although in need of an update, and by most accounts, we enjoyed one of the best villas. That being said, I would hesitate to return. While virtually everyone we encountered was very friendly, it seemed as if many of them were brand new. Virtually every experience was challenging due to confusion and poor staff training resulting in lost dinner reservations, half-hearted room cleaning and in case of our spa treatments, an odd mixture of confusion, non-functioning elements (lights, lockers, etc.) and lackluster technique, resulting in the general feeling of “blah”, which was a microcosm for our entire experience. We enjoyed a few nice meals but in general this was not up to Ritz-Carlton standards.
