"We stayed at the Bird Cottage for a family trip with my parents and our 2.5 year old son. The cottage was just as described, clean, and cozy for the family! The property is beautiful, too. We were in town to go to the Texas State Railroad, which was 5 minutes away... perfect! And it was just a 10-15 minute drive into downtown Palastine. The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming! We enjoyed walking through their fig orchard and taking little walks around the property with my son. Thank you for the hospitality!"

"Whispering Pines is the perfect place to unwind and spend time in nature with the family. If you can, I highly recommend renting the Ranger to explore the property…so much fun! We saw deer, pretty wildflowers, and birds of all kinds. Even coming upon the neighbors cows was a treat. The pond level was lower than we’d hoped for but coming off a drought and hot, Texas summer it’s to be expected. Still caught fish though. David was excellent to work with. He answered every question we had with a quick response time. The cabin was beautifully decorated and the beds super comfy. Highly recommend!"

"What a wonderful and peaceful place this is to stay! Exactly as portrayed in the posting. Very friendly and communicative hosts (but also very willing to respect space and privacy). The accommodations were cozy, clean and comfortable (a coupe of wasps we did battle with but as should be expected with a rural locale). Their dogs have impeccable manners. If bringing a dog you might bring a tie out (to be used as you supervise of course) as we ended up having to attach leash to chairs to have a hand free to drink coffee. They do provide an outside kennel as well as crates. (We brought our own.) We’ll be back!"
