"We had a great stay at Valle Escondido. Our room was very clean and the view was great. We got to see a lot of wildlife right by the building we were in because the resort was less busy in the rainy season, and we got lucky with the weather. We really enjoyed our night hike on the trails on the property - only wish it were longer! Overall, a great stay. Food was good although variety is a bit limited in the off season."

"Staff were great. We booked the plunge pool suite which unfortunately did not have any desk so we had to downgrade to a junior suite. The plunge pool was quite cold and dirty though anyways so we wouldn't have used it. Location is nice. The pool is small like a 1-2 person max with 2 loungers. Hotel overall is clean and it's a steep walk to town but a taxi is around 2500 CRC. They did provide a dining credit for the 2 meals I had with my wife at the restaurant, which is fair since it was my fault for booking the plunge pool room without confirming it had a desk. Restaurant is really nice, a bit pricey but quality wholesome food. We don't drink so we avoid all inclusives."

"This property was perfect for our family of 13. Each of our children and their children had a place to stay! The rooms were clean and it felt like you were living in the midst of the forest! The monkeys came to visit around 4 pm and gave us great entertainment. The manager gave us excellent connections to transportation, guides in the rain forest and an excellent chef onsite! Julieth greeted us on arrival and was always available! Robert who took care of the grounds carried our luggage to our rooms and was available for any needs we had! This is a gem. There are few places that have 5 bedrooms and a common area when the rains came and they did! We are from Texas and the memorable time we had at Casa Guarumo will be unforgettable for our children and grandchildren!!"
