“It’s an old property with lots of character uneven floors and lots of steps it’s lovely and clean although rooms are a bit dated and some quite small has some outside rooms with private entrances We had a shower over a bath which may be difficult for some one elderly to use so I’d specify if you have any specific needs The food was good basic pub grub and breakfast was excellent Parking is easy and free for residents just make sure you register your number plate when you arrive The hotel is……

“We just had one night stay wishing to relax and decompress. It was perfect. Quiet, the room was lovely and warm (easy to adjust temperature to our own preference), our own hot tub to relax in, fabulous breakfast. Shower lovely and powerful, plenty of towels. Such a lovely stay. Thank you ”

“Spent two nights last weekend. Enjoyed our visit. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The whole place was really clean and we could not fault our room. Comfy beds with lovely white crisp bedding. Very warm and cosy. We had continental breakfast and ate our evening meal in the hotel on Sunday. Food was excellent. “Beautiful hotel with no expense spared on recent fit out with great furnishings. Very comfortable hotel with fantastic staff who's attention to detail is fantastic. I mentioned at lunch that I was Coeliac and laster when we checked in to our room gluten free biscuits were placed on the tea tray. A small detail but I have never experianced this before in an hotel. The food in the restaurant is also first class. Unfortunately we were unable to return on Sunday for lunch as it was fully booked!”

“We had a great stay here. The room was quiet and spacious, with plenty of storage plus a table and 2 bucket chairs as well as a dressing table and chair. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was bright with a good sized shower including a rainfall as well as a shower hose. The breakfast was also excellent. The staff were helpful too.”

“Great room, good and clean. Great decor and would certainly visit again. (Too good to say a "stay" as host so personable and friendly). Self check in as such, but only because of our travel time varied, would have been met by owners. Great hosts, giving good local advice and hints and tips, could not do enough to help us a new to the area. Bed very comfortable and certainly a warm room. We felt really at home here. “Great place to stay. All staff were welcoming and friendly. Very dog friendly and comfortable. A few dog rules but nothing out of ordinary - Easy to abide by. Car park to rear. Bedroom was clean and well equipped. Bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast choice good. Presented well and very tasty. We also had a very good experience of restaurant meal in the evening. Some wall/ floor areas in the place were knocked and marked but its a bar/restaurant so some wear and tear is expected from customer……
